Super Sound
This player is a very pleasant surprise -- extremely high quality and sounds fantastic. No apps, no wifi, no Bluetooth - just your music (wav files in my case) on your sd card - love it.The build quality is "like a tank" and the buttons all have a nice feel and click to them. The spin wheel is ok, not sure it's needed, and I find using the buttons more intuitive. Fully charged out of the box, and even though I read a previous review stating this had Micro USB, the model I received is USB C, fantastic! Very easy to use menus and navigation. Boots up in seconds, and most importantly to me, the sound is clear and precise - the "Rock" eq really sounds super.5 stars and highly recommended - thank you MECHEN, fantastic work!

It works for me.
I only use it for background audio on ambient speakers, so quality of sound is not an issue for me. My only complaint is that the repeat feature is not seamless. When a selection repeats, there is a gap of silence for a second or so, even if there is no silence at either end of the recording. My Android phone, for example, has a seamless repeat.

Great sound quality
ipod died, and then I went through 2 cheaper players.. One lost battery within months, the other had poor sound quality.. Spent a little extra this time and I am pleasantly pleased. Great sound quality and I can store up to 256g with card. Only cons: slightly heavier than other units, but not too bad. The spin wheel is not the best, but the buttons work quicker for me anyway.. So far, a great device.

User friendly and GREAT sound crates
This unit, made of metal, not plastic, is just what an older user needed! Older users soon get frustrated with the difficulties of navigating touch screen for functions, and this Mechen is so user friendly. Popped in my loaded microcars and with all the functions being easy to use. Simple. No complications. Easy. Screen shows covers of ones music. Sound just blew me away! This is what this older user needed all along on tho dreadful flights. Got to 'buy' what entertainment airlines offer these days. I've got my own!

File management very poor
I have a very mixed review. I bought this as a player to listen to audiobooks, I have more than 650, and my iPod does not have enough space to store all of them. Yes I know this exceeds the "music" function's ability to access files, but my homework indicated that I would still be able to us it.The Good - feel of the player in my hand, is nice. The buttons are all solid and easy to use, function of each is very simple. Sound is good, I have not compared the sound of the same files over different devices, so take it for what it's worth. I did use a high quality set of head phones. A 256 mini SD card is supported and all the files can be read by the player. From the perspective of listening to MP3 files there is nothing wrong with this player, it works and works pretty well. The Bad - these are all software (firmware) issues. I did my homework before I purchased this, so I knew before I bought it that the "music" function would not show all my "songs" (book chapters) or "artists" (authors), but there were plenty of reviews that said you would be able to access all your files in the "file management" function (true). So I figured it might call for a little "extra" work to access everything but i accepted that. There are a number of problems that make this player unusable, at least for me. 1st the directory in the file function only recognizes 25(ish) characters, the file structure I use for my books include the series name, book number, and the title, there is a good chance that all the books in a series will show up as individual files with the exact same name. This makes it impossible to figure out which file is for the 1st book in a series vs. the last book. 2nd within the file directory function, when you navigate to a specific book so that you can play it the chapters are not sorted in order. My files are all numbered correctly and they have the correct order number, but they don't sort so you can't start play on file #1 and expect is to then go to #2 when it is done (No I do not have it on shuffle). I had to go through a lot of effort to rename my files so that they were labeled such that they should sort correctly, a complete waste of time. 3rd You are supposed to be able to use a 256 GB Mini SD Card, which does actually work I can see all the different files that are on the card, but I can't navigate to a book and hit play. I was counting on being able to do this to get around all my files not showing up in the "music" function. I have to open the book and hit play in the chapter view which is a problem due to my second issue above. 4th In the "Music" function when you sort by "artist" (author), the complete name is cut off after 10 characters, not a big deal because I can recognize who the author is, but because I included the series name in the file name all the books in the series are lumped together. 5th In the "music" function sorting by "album", again because it only recognizes 20 something characters it lumps all the different files together. What this means, from a practical point, is that I have a book series where the series name and book number is to long for the software to recognize so I have one entry for a series of books (all the books in the series) and all the chapters for all the different books are lumped together into one entry, for example a series with 5 books will show up as 1 book but it will have 5 introductions, 5 chapter 1s, etc. Which means if I hit "play" all 5 introductions will play then all 5 chapter 1s will play, etc. Which again defeats the whole reason for my buying this player. At this point I don't know what, if anything I can do in order to use this player. My bottom line, I can't use this for the reason I purchased it. VERY DISAPPOINTING. I DO NOT recommend buying this is you are planning on using it for audiobooks, unless you only have a few books (less than 10) or only use a memory card that is less that 64 GB (the smallest card I have). I think all my "issues" could be fixed, but in all reality I don't expect that will ever happen and I will never be able to use this.If playing your files in order is important to you, choose something else.
