This is my second pack. It has nutrition value similar to other brands at lesser price.Both my kids enjoy having it.

I am not sure about the quality or the benefits it may have because I have not used it long enough.The vanilla flavour/smell is so strong that my kid refuses to drink.I purchased this instead of pediasure as it was not available but it doesn't seem this can replace pediasure. I would suggest to try with the smallest pack available. I purchased more and I am stuck with it.

The generally recommended amount of maltodextrin is 10 to 30 grams, which should be diluted in 200 to 300 ml of water or another drink. The GI for normal sugar is 65 whereas the GI for maltodextrin is 105 to 136. it has a GI of 110, higher than table sugar. This means it can raise your blood sugar level very quickly. Since it's way cheaper many companies use this as an alternative to sugar but actually worse for you than regular sugar. The long term effect of constantly eating foods containing maltodextrin is that your body will begin to secrete more and more insulin.
