SURPRISINGLY GORGEOUS! And better for the planet, too!

My husband and I surprised ourselves with really LOVING our first fake tree! I bought the National Tree Company Carolina Pine 7.5 Foot Artificial Holiday Prelit Christmas Tree on a Cyber Monday sale. I was a bit reluctant to select this tree because other reviewers mentioned that it might look too fake with three different species in one tree, but I ended up really appreciating the beauty of this feature.Putting the tree up was no easy task, hohoho, I easily spent three hours, which does not include adding my own ornaments later. I suggest wearing gloves and adding one section at a time, starting with the bottom section first. It takes PATIENCE to artfully spread the branches out but is well-worth the effort in the end.Maintenance of the tree is certainly EASIER. Thankfully, I spent less time procuring the real thing, keeping it watered, and placing lights on it! The quality of the fake tree is quite good, I don't think Santa will even notice the difference. The only thing missing is the scent of a real tree. For that, I will hang a live wreath in same room. I'm waiting to see if any of my guests know the difference. The tree is definitely full, which I like but I'm already stressing about how/where it will be stored. Still, I'm glad we made the move to a fake tree, it's perfectly symmetrical, won't wilt over time and is BETTER for the planet. Highly recommended! Merry Christmas, everyone!

Great tree for an affordable price

This is our first year getting an artificial tree. We adopted a kitten who is obsessed with taste testing everything and this is his first Christmas. So a real tree wasn't in the cards this year. We love the energy that a real tree brings to the room, so getting a fake one was a hard transition. But this one is REALLY lovely. If you take the time to really fluff out every single branch, it's really full and lovely. (I noticed some spaces in these photos that I need to fluff a bit more). The color of the lights is PERFECT. It's so warm and cozy. I will say the base of the tree is not quite as sturdy as I would like, so anxious to see if it ends up knocked over one night courtesy of a crazy kitten. One other thing I don't love is that some of the branches have almost a dust on them to make them more realistic. But given my cat likes to taste everything, it makes me a bit nervous. All things considered, overall it's a really lovely artificial tree.

Gorgeous - very full and realistic

I absolutely LOVE this tree! We have finally moved from a real tree to artificial after 33 years of marriage as our kids are grown and it’s just too much work for the two of us. This year we got our last one.I got this one for next year and set it up in our basement to see what it looks like. I think I’ll keep it up through the holidays because it’s so pretty even though it’s a bit tall for the space.I researched the number of tips, quality, brightness & bulb count. This one lives up to the reviews. It’s lovely. I will probably add my own string of twinkling warm white lights as I like that on a tree. The lights are already quite bright thought and warm not cool.I wanted some light flocking but even though this doesn’t have it, there is variation in the coloring which gives it visual interest.I’m so glad we decided to go with this one! Love, love, love it!!!

Realistic-Looking Once You Take the Care to Properly Shape

I got this National Tree Christmas tree to replace another from the same brand that was 15 years old. It falls into the company's "pre-lit" line and not the Power Connect one, the last of which is probably more reliable. (More on that later.) The tree comes in three pieces with branches that fall outward and down when released from their ribbons. While this one is not quite as realistic-looking as my old one, it looks attractive and, from across the room, real now that I've shaped and decorated it. Usually I prefer artificial spruce trees, but I couldn't pass up a sale on this long-needled Carolina Spruce. I knew the company, and I had confidence in it.I love that the white lights are strung along the length of the branches, giving it the proper inside-out glow that gives the tree depth. Each of the three sections plugs into an outlet box so that they light together when the power cord is plugged into an outlet. There's an extra outlet near the top for a lighted tree topper. When you first take it out of the box, expect a straggly looking thing that will make you wonder why you bought it. Don't despair. It needs to be properly shaped for an attractive look. National Tree even provides a link to a video on how to do it that should be helpful for those who've never done it before. At the end of the season, don't expect to be able to fit the tree back in the box it came in. Even pushing the branches back together won't get it compact enough. We use two Christmas tree storage bags so that we don't stress the light strands too much when we store it. You don't want to break a light strand since they are nearly impossible to remove from the tree.I should note that this tree is a secondary tree in my house, and I don't consider it as beautiful as my primary tree on the main floor of my house. That's because I'm particular when it comes to artificial Christmas trees, and I spent a lot to get a first-rate artificial tree. Still, this tree would have made me happy if I hadn't had the other. My main tree (another brand) is 9 feet tall, and its lights connect by merely putting the "trunk" together, which is probably National Tree's "PowerConnect" line. Not only is that more convenient, but also seems to make the light strands less likely to break. The whole reason I replaced my old National Tree spruce is because the lights eventually stopped working, and I got tired of hanging separate strands on it every year. You might want to investigate National Tree's PowerConnect line if you want the added convenience.Based on my past experience with a tree from this company, this Carolina Pine should last 8-10 years, possibly longer. The tree holds up fine. It's the pre-lit portion that fails. It comes with replacement bulbs for those that burn out, but if a strand breaks on the inside, you'll be out of luck. Mine burned out in sections after it was decorated, suggesting that a possible power surge blew it. You might want to use a surge protector to lengthen its life.Whatever the selling price, compare the cost of this tree to buying real ones every year. You'll likely discover that this will pay for itself in 5 years or less. Add in the convenience of being able to put up your tree whenever you want, and I find it a no-brainer.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann
