Large capsule, but easy to swallow. This form of magnesium is well tolerated. I prefer to take a low dose of magnesium with each meal and this works for me.

After taking magnesium malate tablets for several years and having to increase the dose to get any effect, I decided to try something different. Magnesium oxide tablets are smaller pills, but the vast majority of the magnesium is not available to your body. the magnesium malate tablets were large and difficult to swallow too, so I decided to try these capsules which are so much easier to swallow than the tablets of equal dose. I started taking magnesium to treat migraine headaches and for the first time, I'm getting relief at a reasonable dose of 400 mg. This was not true for the tablet version in which i was taking at least 5 a day (about 600mg). So despite the fact the tablet and integrative therapeutics are offering the same substance at about the same dose per pill, it would appear that the capsule is better absorbed as well. The fact that the capsules help with constipation is a plus for me too.

I'm sure this is a high quality product. My muscle soreness improved quickly.However, I tend towards very bad constipation problems.I did some research and discovered the malate portion is very constipating for some people.I changed forms of magnesium and now I'm fine.The only reason I wanted to put in this review is to save someone from the discomfort I went through.If you are a person who gets too active a bowel from mag then this is the one for you.But if you are like me, then here's a heads up.

This product works great on smooth muscle such as bladder. No more night time trips to the bathroom. Works great!
