Hard to review
So very hard to review this as I haven’t (and hopefully will never) use it. Until then, I have it hung on its nice bracket. I like the piece of mind, though, so from that standpoint, it’s a great value.

Christmas Miracle
This item worked perfect and possibly saved lives, I actually purchased this set for my son for Christmas along with a fire blanket for the house he is renting. He hosted our Christmas party and we exchanged our gifts. After I left I realized I had forgotten something so I went back to his house about 1.5 hrs later and on arrival I found the pine straw bedding around his home had caught fire and in turn caught the house on fire. He was asleep inside, I woke him and we grabbed the new extinguishers and we were able to put out the fire and saved the house. Never dreamed we would need them that fast. It was a Christmas miracle!! Of course I ordered another set! Also thanks to Amazon fast delivery we got the original set before Christmas and they were not expected until the 30th. Amen to that!

A must-have, non-corrosive extinguisher for Kitchen
As a retired firefighter, I can say that having a kitchen extinguisher that is NOT corrosive to appliances is really nice. A 'regular' ABC (the red all-purpose one in the photo) or "BC" (flammable liquids/electrical fires) extinguisher certainly works on kitchen fires, but the contents are corrosive to metal. If that's all you have, it's certainly best to use it rather than let your house burn down, but having one that won't corrode your appliances is a bonus, especially in cases where the fire is small and was extinguished before it did any real damage to your appliance (because that little bit of powder you didn't get off the metal parts of your stove can cause corrosion there later). Also, as you can see in the mfgr's photo, the nozzle of the kitchen extinguisher (the white one) is flared - this is important because the contents come out of an extinguisher under pressure, and can easily blow and spread whatever they hit. Having a flared nozzle reduces that effect, so that if you have a liquid/grease fire (very common), it's less likely to blast the pan of burning grease all over the stove, wall, etc.Kidde brand has been around for decades and is quite reputable.Everyone should have this set of extinguishers for their home & kitchen. It's hard to beat the price of ~$15/each, and even though they aren't refillable, you'd probably spend at least that much paying to refill a refillable extinguisher. With these, use them once and just buy another to replace it (it's a risk to try to reuse an extinguisher as there's no real guarantee it'll work a second time, but you should follow the manufacturer's recommendation on that).**Just as an 'fyi', if you have an old extinguisher laying around that still shows the needle in green ("good"), just know that the contents can become packed down over the years, and it may not be able to expel the packed-down contents even though it shows 'green' because it still has pressure. My advice, for what it's worth, is to get a new extinguisher every few years, or as recommended by the manufacturer.
