i purchased this so me and my wife could watch movies and listen to music together on my cell phone when we fly together. we did not experience any noticeably volume drop or and static. The physical quality appears decent. The earbud male end has a very solid and tight fit into the female and of this splitter. I keep this in a hard case when not in use with my earbuds. I expect it to last many years. Overall this is not an expensive item, yet works well as intended, and I would buy it again.
