Q: what is the response time on this? The email I received has conflicting information - one place says 2-3 seconds, another 3-4 seconds.

The TP610 dual probe thermometer has a response time of 3-4 seconds.

Q: Can this be used for making yogurt? i.e. does it alarm when the it cool down to a set temperature?

It will alarm when it heats up to the temp, not cool down. But works great for yogurt.

Q: Regarding the 1 Lithium Polymer batteries required (included) is this battery removable & replaceable or is it permanent?

It is an internal rechareable battery, the internal battery cannot be replaced

Accurate, perfect functions

Its surprisingly accurate and functions as expected, the design is beautiful and feels better than the others.4 out of 5 because its a little bit bigger than i expected and doesnt come with a case to hold the other probe/thermometer itself.
