Q: Will this work with a Fluke 78?

Don't know, I converted it to trigger an O'scope on the #1 cylinder for automotive app's. The Fluke's about 10 years ago had a current probe made for their meters.

Q: can this pick-up be use with an scope

Actually I can't see why not. It designed to measure spark ignition high current. It has a spark stamp on it. Why it should care what tool (scope or a multimeter) connected to its leads to read the measurement? The only minus it has, that it uses a non standard leads to be used with a scope, so you need an adapter to BNC type, or to change the cable in a whole.

Q: can this pick-up be used with holdpeak 770k

Maybe you can check it with the seller of Holdpeak 770k whether thery meter has the Signal Input Function. My meter works with Signal Input Function digital multimeter. And especially, it perfect for the digital meter in my company EM135 or EM133A. But it sells to other buyers, they pointed this pick up works great.

Q: I have an actron automotive multimeter with rpm function. how would the red and black plugs connect to the female cable inputs on the multimeter?

Normally red would go to the (+) or V+ input & The black to the "Com" or V- input. The meter should be in the rpm mode. Depending on the turns ratio in the probe, the signal may overload the meter. I tested mine with an oscilloscope, then I built an an adapter plug with a voltage divider built in. I use this clamp-on to trigger my oscilloscope on the #1 plug as a reference for the other cylinders.
