Works really well - great for gardeners
This is a great little device. I have one in my mini greenhouse where I grow chilli plants which are quite sensitive to temperature. I've had to use a small fan heater recently due to cold nights and this unit is great for monitoring the heating/temperature drop cycles as the thermostat cuts in and out. Also great during the day as the sun warms the grow space. You can set alerts direct to your 'phone/email once a certain temperature is exceeded. Then you can act and open up the ventilation/shut off the heater, or whatever. As well as temperature and humidity you can monitor Vapour Pressure Deficit as well - as I understand it, a good measure of the amount of drying power the air has on your plants and how much moisture the air sucks out of them. You get graphs on the app showing the trends in temperature, humidity, dew point and VPD. Mine was still working well in 59C inside the greenhouse. I believe the spec says they're ok up to 60 Celsius. They do take a bit of time to update and load data to your 'phone over the web in practice; it's not quite real time, but good enough. The device is easy to set up and the app is better than most of the connected home apps around. You do need to set up a free account but as far as I can see it's pretty hassle free. Nice product - well packaged, good form factor and works well with a good app. Have already bought another.

Very happy with yet another Goveee product for me
I got two of these thermometers. Setting up was nice and easy, I already have several lights from Govee and just added them to my app.The cool thing is that if you know the temps are off you can "calibrate" these thermometers from within the app. There is Youtube video how to do this. Very easy, just press the + or - button on the side of the temp.I was a bit worried that constant Bluetooth connection will be required on top of having the WIFi turned on but that is not the case- I only have WiFi on on my phone and the temps are accurate. There is no display o the product so all statistics have to be checked on the phone but hey- it is what it is.I checked the temps accurateness against my old fashioned thermometer (one with liquid inside) and the WiFi thermometers eventually came very close to it- 0.7 degrees difference.Very happy with these 2. I might grab some more for the balcony and my parents in future.Thank you, Govee.

Poor battery life
Great thermometer, not that great battery life. It has nice feature set, but the app not that user friendly tho. The size is ok. It comes with Bluetooth connection only, so wifi. But with this poor battery life it's not a problem. The measurement accuracy looks ok.

Work well - I have them around the house
I love these little thermostats. I found them easy to set up (remember to turn on Bluetooth scanning while logging on to the WiFi network) and they work well. I haven't tested them scientifically, but I find them pretty accurate based on other thermometers in the house. I recently installed a number of "smart" WiFi enabled heaters around the house, and these thermometers help me track the temperature in the relevant rooms to ensure optimal heating. Given that the outdoor temperature has varied between -2C and +19C in recent days it was tricky to get the heater temperature and "on" time settings right until I bought these.

Not for those concerned about their online privacy
A real disappointment. The device itself seem built to a decent quality standard, whilst the functionality of the Govee Home app used to access it appears better than that of similar products and is, in itself, exactly what I was looking for. The very reasonable price point sealed the deal for me.However. The problem for me starts and ends with the Govee Home mobile application, this being the only means by which the device can be setup and the collected data viewed/exported. Despite claims by the seller to the contrary (see the question section) this WILL NOT WORK AT ALL if you do not grant the app access to the Location service on your phone (Android, in my case). This is completely unnecessary. Whilst I accept that technically, it may be necessary to enable access to Location services on some phones in order to use BLUETOOTH, it most certainly isn't for Wifi access. So once the unit is initially setup with the correct wifi SSID and password (which is done here over bluetooth), there is no legitimate reason for it to continue to insist on having access to Location services, and with it your current location. This is how other such devices from reasonably well known automation vendors work, including Neos, Gosund and TP-Link Tapo, all of which I own and none of which insist on having this privilege to provide remote access over wifi. To be clear, you cannot even start the app without it blocking further access without turning on Location services for it.So I'm left wondering, does the vendor a) want to use my location data (inc. GPS) without my consent or knowledge for purposes "undefined", or b) do they simply not care about customer's privacy issues? I can't answer that, and that's the problem - so it goes back to Amazon.I'll also note that when I emailed Govee technical support for them to confirm my findings that the app does require location access to even start, within a few minutes of sending the email from a "burner" email address I very rarely use, I received another email to it confirming that it had been used to sign-up to an online service I don't recognise and certainly didn't sign up for myself. Needless to say, this has done nothing to alleviate my concerns about data privacy with Govee.A real shame, it could and should be a perfect solution at this price point. If you're not concerned about such things, this could be the wifi thermometer for you.
