I’m impressed
I’m not easily impressed, but I am really impressed with the sound quality of this amplifier. I have it hooked up to two 12” full range and two 5” speakers. It will fill a large room with plenty of volume. Very little distortion at full volume. This is not the type of amplifier that you need if you’re looking for a lot of thump, but it will push your midrange and tweeters. Bass and treble adjustments do have a good range. It does have a separate output for a bass sub, but not anything to brag about. Might come in handy if you had a powered sub to hook up to it. Would also work well with a 12 volt cigarette adapter.

It’s hard to find a cheap non-Bluetooth amp.
I use this to run in wall 6.5” left and right speakers and 10” sub all from Dayton Audio. I wanted an amp that is not Bluetooth so I don’t have to worry about switching it to aux every time I want to use it. I also wanted one that had mounting holes so I could screw it to the wall behind my TV. This one sounds clean. I wish it had more power, but it is plenty loud for the room it is in. The sub and treble adjustments seem to work better than a lot of the cheap Chinese 2.1 amps I have used. I feel like it was kind of pricey for what it was so I docked it a star. But I needed it quick so didn’t want to wait for something ordered directly from china.

Resurrected a lame Logitech z533 setup. Of course, time will tell...
I have a Logitech z533 setup at my pc desk which apparently blew a cap that has disabled the subwoofer. Naturally this happened just outside the product's 1 year warranty. Most of the power delivery electronics are inside the subwoofer, out of reasonable reach without destroying the subwoofer case (which is glued together MDF.) Even if I could get to the electronics, I don't necessarily have the know-how to go through and suss out and replace the capacitor. That doesn't mean I'm going to just go out and drop another $150 on another z533 setup. Especially when I consider this is the third and final Logitech speaker setup to have a lame electronics-based failure that I've had to clean up after. (I also still have an old z506 setup with a faulty power switch I had to fix myself...)I knew the speakers themselves were still good, so I decided to give this amp a try as it has very similar output properties to the original amp. Cut and extend the wires from the sub speaker, plug them into the new amp. Cut the phono plugs off the left and right channel speakers, stripped those wires back a bit, and plugged them into the spring clip terminals on the Facmogu. Plugged in my laptop for a sound source, and I was done.If the speakers sound different than they did with the Logitech electronics onboard, I honestly cannot tell. Your mileage may vary. Yes, I've lost use of the little control puck thing, but that thing kinda sucked anyway. I cut it off.The question is: will this amp last? If it doesn't, I will edit this review to reflect that.

It's ok, more or less
I knew when I bought this product i knew it was cheap Chinese stuff. This same amp sells under dozens of names. It looks fine and the knobs turn nicely. But sadly I very much doubt that it puts out the claimed wattage. Spend the money and get something better. It does work as far as that goes.

Great Sound Quality
This small amplifier sounds great. I've only had this amp about a week and so far so good. I'm running out of my iMac into the 1/8 AUX input jack on the front of this amp and using heavy gauge speaker cable into a pair of speakers, each w/ a 6.5 inch midrange and 3 inch tweeter, housed in 45 year old heavy, solid wood cabinets. The bass and treble controls on this ST-838 are really quite responsive, although I am also using the EQ in my iTunes player to dial things in a little more, especially when listening to music. I have a background as a sound engineer and musician and I am fairly hard to please and so far I'm pretty happy, particularly considering the price. And now ~ the test of time. Stay tuned.Update: Well, it's been a year and a half and this little amplifier is still rock solid and I use it every day for at least several hours and sometimes longer. I can't recommend this little guy enough. If you're on a budget and need a good amp, this just might be the ticket.
