Works great!
This thing is amazing! My Maine Coone is 16 years old, and she has really been struggling with grooming herself. This has resulted in many thick dreads and mattes in her fur. We received the brush today and tried it out. I was flabbergasted! We got all but 2 of her thick matted dreads out. I will go back at it in a few days after she has had some time to rest. I really don’t know how we survived this long without this. It definitely is a tool that works best for cats/dogs with long hair and with the down undercoat . She actually seemed to enjoy it at times as well. I would recommend !

Great for a Sheltie
I bought this on the recommendation of my dog’s breeder. I have a Sheltie and she has plenty of hair. This works great in getting out her undercoat during the shedding season. Easy to use and handle.

Works Well
My cat has very long, fluffy hair that sheds a lot and gets tangled easily, especially behind his legs. It worked pretty well for removing excess fur and relatively well for removing small-ish knots. I would not use it on large knots because it pulls too much on his skin. If you use it, be careful of pulling on tangles too hard, and I did notice that it got caught in a spot where loose hair had built up (even though this spot wasn’t knotted). My cat likes how it feels to be brushed with it on his back, though he is less enthusiastic about being brushed elsewhere (which is generally true of most brushes for him). Overall, I’m pretty happy with using this as a tool to keep my cat’s large amount of shedding under control and helping maintain his coat health.

A Fabulous secondary tool
This brush is too small to be your primary tool. But, if you're trying to focus on a single matted area--this is what you need! This thing can cut through terrible snarls. It only brushes in one direction so you pull it towards you which adds leverage. My cats weren't happy with me but they did tolerate the brush. I'd also buy a larger dematting brush for the routine stuff.

Must be right handed to use
Well, something I find a LOT! items that won’t work for left handed people. This is one.I can’t use this as it must be used by a right handed person. Similar to the great gloves that groom your cat, they only work for right handed people. Now, obviously, RH people outnumber lefties, but, still, it is proven that lefties are “left” out , and that often it causes actual death …( no, really: driving, and use of power tools all made for righties, can cause death for lefties…look it up.)

This tool is the best!
This is the best product I ever used for my cat’s matted hair! It was recommended by her vet and it works like a charm!! Love it!! My cat has long hair in case you were wondering.

Pup approved!
This works very well on my mini schnauzer. She doesn't fight as much and the tangles come undone easily.

Mine did not cut through mats.
The blades on the one I received were not sharp. Will not cut through mats at all. Went back to scissors.Would not reccomend.
