you're getting store-brand off-quality, here. if you want double-sided tape that doesn't rip well when you try to tear off a piece and leaves you with stretched and uneven edges and stickiness all over your fingers, this will be the tape for you. If you don't want that, I'd recommend getting Scotch brand tape.
