Bringing back memories
It was easy to use, read all the floppies so far without issues. As floppies were slow back in days, it is slow. I find it faster to create a folder, then copy the files on floppy to that folder, there it will go faster, then you can sort it from there. I like the slim design, fits nicely in a VHS video case when not in use. Worked ok on my Win 10 with some setting changes (instructions provided, read it!). Seems quiet, got what I needed to save. Saved me having get a cable adaptor to use a rescued floppy drive as well finding some enclosure for it. The Micro-C adaptor is good feature on adaptability.

Worked like a charm!
I wasn’t sure what to expect from a floppy disk reader in 2025, but this little device worked perfectly! I had a stack of old floppy disks from years ago and was finally able to access the files without any hassle. It connected easily to my computer via USB, was recognized instantly, and read every disk I threw at it. No weird formatting issues or glitches—just plug and play.If you’re looking to recover old data or take a trip down memory lane, this reader is a reliable and affordable tool. Highly recommend!

Work arounds for issues
This does work. Its buggy and don't expect that it will be a modern experience. I could NOT get it to read a disk after without restarting the computer. That did work if I had ejected it properly. The ONLY way it would see the drive if I ejected it and plugged it back in. I did find a work around. Pop out the floppy disk, go to properties and click scan and repair. That has been the best work around I found. For the price and the fact it works at all buy it with the knowledge it may not be perfect.

No drivers needed for Windows 11 and works with some Atari ST disks with 3rd party software
I connected the drive directly to Windows 11 and immediately showed up without any drivers needed.I was able to copy several PC floppy disks (mostly HD) without issues. There were a few that failed but I think the disk just went bad.I also was able to copy some standard Atari ST disks (ST formatted) disks by using Floppy Image 1.5.2 (in settings use 'Create compatible IMG files') and make sure output file extension is .img). After copying I renamed the .img file to .st and it worked great.I wasn't able to format unformatted DD/DS disks unless I formatted these first on the Atari ST. After that I could format them in cross compatible format in windows command prompt: format a: /t:80 /n:9

Is the Drive Inferior, Or Is It Too Much to Ask 40-Year Old Tech to Work?
I read and followed the warnings and recommendations on the list in the box. The special instructions for how to attach the drive to my PC. The special sequences that must be followed when inserting diskettes into the drive. The file types on the diskettes might be obsolete and perhaps abandoned. The warnings that my diskettes might be too old, too degraded, incorrectly formatted, too worn, or that I should not expect reading a diskette to be as fast as reading from modern storage.I've tried to read 15-20 diskettes created in the 1980's and 1990's. All of them have been well-stored in appropriately designed diskette storage. Not damp. Not too hot. Not too cold. Not dusty. I created created some of these diskettes myself, and others were created by someone else commercially. Some diskettes could not load at all. The file directory could be read on some, but no data file could be read. Some files on a diskette could be read, but others on the same diskette could not. I have not been able to read all the data from from a single diskette I have tried.I get it. It's a hard problem. Maybe it's too difficult a problem to expect a 20-30 year-old diskette to be readable. I haven't tried to create any new files on my own, and even if I could what's the point. Why sell and buy a diskette reader with a zero percent success rate?

Great customer service and follow up.
I ordered one of these floppy disks and when it arrived it did not work properly so I contacted the technical support for the company and they immediately took steps to resolve the issue. After some testing they decided the first unit had a problem and they sent me a new floppy disk drive. When it arrived I plugged it in and everything worked perfectly. I would recommend this company to do business with because of the way they took care of my issue.
