Very versatile for all mediums!
Claybord is a versatile gold-standard surface, and such a pleasure to create on. I have used Claybord and Gessobord products for years. They are the best available and museum quality.

Ampersand is the ultimate substrate
I've been using Ampersand "Scratchboard" for decades. Now exploring the other substrates and they are equally fantastic. No warping - very sturdy and easy to use. I've never found a surface to have a flaw.

Damaged in Shipping
The product is good but was delivered with chipped corners because of the inappropriate flimsy envelope Amazon put it in. It should've been shipped in a box.

Amazing value
High quality board and surface, amazing value, the 1/8” depth and materials made it hard for finishing for display. Had to buy adhesive hangers.

Absolutely Nice and Different
The ultra-smooth surface produces some interesting results. I've tried oil pastels, watercolor, acrylic and water-based paint on them. Pastels and water-based seem to work the best for me.Unlike, say a glazed tile (also smooth), this board is extra-absorbent so the media immediately finds purchase and won't run (as in a glazed tile). Also, unlike canvas the surface will not deteriorate with steel wool, painting knife and the like. Only the paint is affected.Water-based can be manipulated after-the-fact by applying water. Kinda like oils that remain unset for a while. However, oil will dry much sooner on this board than in canvas. It is very similar to Formica (I haven't tried in Formica yet). However, due to its reasonable price and the frame's fit and finish this is worth it, in my opinion. Finally, the variety of sizes and widths makes it easier for the artist.

Nice surface
If you are an artiste you will appreciate this material, the surface is smooth & can handle a variety of art techniques, cost is a bit high however. If you want to create something that will last it is a decent choice in my experience.
