Ok so I originally bought this for myself to get away from using a fan in the winter time to help me fall asleep. I liked the price and the look of it was very cute.Size: It was a good size not too small not to big right in the middle about the size of an small radio alarm (like the ones in some hotels)Sound: The volume is good and I liked the diversity of sounds and so did my kids, they loved the birds and the summer night one. I personally preferred the rain and white noise but after using it one night I ended up giving it to my kids and taking theirs because I kept hearing the loop of the sounds. I am good at hearing patterns in songs so for me this was an issue. I needed something to easy my mind not make me anticipate the next start of the loop.Overall quality: I would have really liked this if I couldn't detect the sound or had to find an adapter to keep it plugged in.This would be great for someone who needs a unique sound machine for relaxing and can't detect patterns.

I've struggled with falling asleep and staying asleep since my husband died. This little machine has been a god-send on those nights when my sleep troubles are the worst. Super easy to use. I just hit one button to turn it on and the button next to it set the timer for 30-minutes - and I'm out in nothing flat. I don't have to stay away long enough to turn it off so I don't run down the batteries. Yes, it has an electrical cord, but I prefer the batteries for those nights when the power glitches due to the weather. I also like the multiple sound effects to choose from. It's a natural, soothing way to fall asleep - no sleeping pills.

11/6/2019 Updated Review:After contacting customer service and uploading a video of my issue described below, I have been assured that I will receive a new machine in the mail. Thank you for your assistance.This is a decent noise machine for the price, although you can tell it is not very high quality. The sound quality is ok but not great. Also, I will be returning mine after I can figure out how to contact customer service because the USB port was loose from the beginning and never worked as a way to power the device. And after opening it, I read in the instructions that you cannot have batteries in while using the USB as a power source, which is annoying because I like to have batteries in as a backup for travel.

Great little sound machine for the price. Quality is great and so is the selection. Nice compact size is great, too. My only complaint, and it's solvable, is that I wish the sound would go one notch lower in volume. Imagine if the volume level ranged 1-10, it's like level 1 is missing. To my ears, anyway. *Easily* solved, though, by simply turning the machine so it's speaker side down. Not enough of a quibble to take off a star, at least for me.

I should have returned this when I bought it because all of the sounds suffer from "sound looping." If you like different volumes or sounds like waves on a beach, this product will do well for you. But if you like a constant white noise at a constant volume, like the sound a non-rotating, stationary fan would make, this product is not for you. I have returned to using the free white noise app on my phone because the sounds are constant and consistent. I bought this product so that I wouldn't have to keep my phone on near my bed all night, given growing concerns about radiofrequency radiation in our environment. But until I find a separate, small-footprint, affordable white noise machine that doesn't have any sound looping, I am stuck.

So I really cant be too critical cause it was 15 bucks, but its not great..... its okay. I'll probably keep it for business travel, but I plan on getting a different one.Pros: Low cost, and the "wind" setting is decent having the speaker directed away from where you are sleeping. Otherwise the highs are kind of unpleasant. So its decent in that use.Cons:1) 5 of the sounds like what they are supposed to be, I just would never want to fall asleep to them. 4 of them just sound terrible and I also would never want to fall asleep to them. For a "white noise" machine, that actual sound is just harsh static, and arguably the most unbearable sound it contains. As said before, the "wind" is the only bearable sleeping one - in my opinion.2) it is a USB plug. There is no standard wall connector included, better have an old iphone one laying around.

I knew for the price I wasn't getting the Cadillac of noise machines, but I was still disappointed to find that out of the 10 pre-programmed sounds, only maybe two are even listenable. For a machine designed to help people block out other noise and sleep, the noises are just low quality and distracting.The other major issue is that, even on the lowest volume, this thing is pretty loud. That's probably okay if you're blocking out other loud noises, but does not work well at all in my otherwise quiet room. I literally had to put a piece of duct tape over most of the speaker hole to make the thing work for me.So basically I would only recommend buying if you're willing to modify the thing to be usable.

I work at home and needed something to put in the room due to general household noises being heard while I am on the phone with customers. This little device is so powerful and loud and has many choices of noises. I prefer the white noise, but it would also be great for someone who needs sound to sleep! It's adjustable volume goes from slight to crazy loud, so you have your pick of volume levels and sounds. Would recommend this! Have had it for over 6 months, no issues. Is battery powered and comes with cord to hook into wall.
