Very good customer service
This product works as advertised. Plugged it in, found the cameras, all seem to be working well. Yes you do need an extra monitor to work with it much--you can view on your smartphone or PC, but to view saved (past) files you use their hard drive and a separate monitor. The software instructions could be a little more clear, but it's not bad to navigate around. Be aware--there isn't a lot of editing ability on the software that captures the images. As far as I can tell, to do things like enhance a video, enlarge it to see details, etc. you have to save the files to a zip drive then over to your computer to another editing software. It isn't all that hard, and hopefully won't need to use it (only if there was a break-in or something) but if you were using the cameras for some purpose that needed a lot of editing it would be difficult. I almost gave 4 stars instead of 5 because of the software instructions--they are a little stilted in language, but once you get the hang of it it's fine. Also has white cord on black cameras, wish all were black. I gave it 5 stars because of communication otherwise. I had some trouble getting the viewing software on to my PC (yes you can view in real time on your pc or smartphone; to view any past records you have to hook to another monitor), and I exchanged a couple of e-mails with them. They responded every time and got the problem taken care of.Updating review--I purchased an extra camera after installing the system. Very easy to do and worked fine. I also used one of the cameras as a repeater on one that was dropping signal periodically. Also easy to do. Overall still happy with the system, it's only been a month so not sure how durable it will be. The remote viewing software and app are a little awkward--don't always pick up all the cameras, and some delay, but not bad, and for the price it exceeded my expectations. So far 1 TB hard drive has held all data for 4 cameras for a month.Updated 1 year—-since adding 2 cameras, one fogged up. They gave me no problem in replacing it and are very responsive and aware of the importance of customer service and the review system. Looks like a 1 Terrabyte drive will hold for about 2 weeks (six cameras).

Excellent Product and Customer Service
100% reliable customer support!! Let me explain.Everything went smoothly after I purchased my first two NVR's in the summer of 2018 (one for my summer home in Ohio and the other for my Winter home in Arizona). However, as I started to get things ready to head for Arizona this year, the NVR at my home here in Ohio simply would not stay online. I followed all the instructions on Firstrend's FAQ and still could not get it to stay online. At this point I purchased another NVR to replace the one that was not working, and contacted NVR's customer service.First they walked me through everything I could do to connect the unit. And when it was clear that I had followed all protocols properly, they instantly refunded my money for the new NVR I purchased to replace the non-working unit. Very apologetic, no hassles, and a cheerful refund. Seriously, who could ask for more????Let's face it, technology breaks down sometimes. But, with Firstrend you will never be left hanging. Thank you Firstrend, and Neal from Firstrend customer support, for surpassing my expectations!!

Big disappointment
Sounded good. Looked good. Plenty of good reviews. Package arrives. Good packaging, feel good messages from the CEO. Nice little mouse pad with a happy couple. We're here to help yadda yadda. Physical components easy enough to connect. Good luck navigating the ancient GUI. WiFi Range is terrible. Cameras disconnect randomly and frequently. No indication HDD's working. Cameras and NVR indicate they're recording but the question is to what. Support number goes to voice mail. No web site. No real trouble shooting material. Returning it.

Pleasantly surprised
I wanted a wireless camera setup, but not necessarily wire free. This system transmits video wireless, but does require a power cord (plug or PoE). I got the version with the built in hard drive as it wasn't much more, and one less thing to fiddle with upon receipt. I also got the 4 cam version. All cameras came already paired to the base. The base does need to be wire networked to your router. This unit runs its own wifi for the cameras. My base unit is at one end of the house and the furthest camera is outside at the opposite end. A nice feature of these cameras is each can act as a repeater to extend the wifi signal...so I turned the middle camera into a repeater and presto. I'm telling you, for the price this is all right.

Definitely recommend’
Best customer services ever! I bought this system couple months ago, one of the camera doesn’t work, they emailed me the details for how to solve the problem. Then they also call me to follow up. The product is easy and convenient to use, I can check my cellphone to watch the camera. The live pic is so clear and stable! Nice products and nice services!

Can only View on Mobile SOMETIMES
When we try to view from any PC or MAC we get a grey screen with Chinese letters. Support has been non existent. They want me to take down every camera at the company this is installed at and send them back instead of sending me any other option like a firmware flash. The mobile app hangs at 95% almost every single time. The Danale PC app is 100% useless and does nothing.

Run away, run away
I’m upset that Amazon even offers this. I’ve had almost a year and has never consistently worked. You have to constantly shut power off and on to reset cameras. Range of cameras is iffy at best. These guys don’t even have a website. I’m trashing whole thing and going with a name that’s known and that has a website. amazon, shame on you for putting this up at all.
