Simple Install (May Need Mods)

This is a great piece of equipment to turn your single fuel into a dual/tri fuel generator with limited mechanical skills. I have a newer Predator 9000 and as mentioned in other comments I had to make some slight mods and workarounds in order to make it fit but again with limited mechanical skills I did this in an afternoon and it runs great! I would recommend using some RTV silicone gasket maker to secure the seal between the air box and the new carb. Also removing the bracket that secures the propane regulator to the carb gives you more space to connect the air intake hose without having to cut the nipple. I just used zip ties to secure the regulator a cross bar and longer propane hose tubing cut to size with a razor knife in order to connect the regulator to the carb instead of using that short elbow tube provided. You'll need new hose clamps as well to make sure everything stays in place. All of this will make sense once you see it up close. All in all I would say this was a skill level 2/5, very simple but a little time consuming if you have newer model Predator 9000 because of having to make mods vs the older model where it's plug and play and everything fits perfectly.Materials used: 10mm ratchet, 9mm ratchet, RTV silicone gasket maker, small rotary saw, duct tape and/or JB weld, screw driver, zip ties, propane hose tubing, razor knife, hose clamps.

Great product.

Did exactly it's job. Converted a gasoline engine to TriFuel. Did have to modify air box slightly to get it to fit onto my Champion 6000w/7500w generator. Other than that, highly recommend. Also recommend setting up the propane/natural gas hookup with braided, reinforced piping. I ran the primary tubing through sime larger diameter tubing as well, just for extra protection as I had to run the piping on the outside of the frame. Planning in going back and redoing it to run on the inside of the frame for better protection. Recommend using 3/8" quick connect brass fittings to hookup to propane/nat. gas. Will udate with pictures and video of install process.

Works on natural gas. Perfectly!!

The media could not be loaded. Was kinda skeptical if this would work on NG since some of the reviews said only “Compressed Natural Gas”. But this is home natural gas that it’s running off of. (Maybe 2psi) and it started up perfect. I did have to tweak the adjustment screw once a load was put on it to bring done the frequency from around 80hz to 60hz.For my particular generator (Ryobi 6500/8125) 420cc model, I had to modify the choke mechanism to work like the default. But if use NG the choke isn’t even necessary.I did try out the gasoline option and it started up fine as well. For the price you can’t beat it I can alway go back to the old carb if needed to. But I shouldn’t need to.One thing that was mentioned in someone else’s review was when using NG, drain the carb bowl of gasoline using the drain valve at the bottom, then close the valve once all is drained. I didn’t try it any other way but doing this did seem to work without any problems.

Works great; fabrication skills help.

As mentioned on several reviews, it will require slight modifications to work on the Predator 9000.Where the carb had interference with the airbox, I modified the air box by using a heat gun and screw driver handle to mold the plastic inward until there was plenty of room.Where the breather hit the bracket, I made a new bracket and replaced the old one rather than cut off the breather and move it elsewhere on the airbox. I then extended the line with a short piece of vacuum line and hose barb retaining the original long hose just in case I want to convert back to the original carb.I used 1/2" quick disconnects and 1/2" flex line to where I teed into my water heater connection.I also bought a low pressure gauge (Measureman MA048 low pressure test kit) to monitor gas pressure to the carb inlet. It did not run on propane at first, until I got the adjustable regulator and turned it down into the range of 4 to 6 inches of water column or 2 to 6 ounces per sq. in. (pretty low). Then it fired right up on propane; no choke, or adjustments. Then I connected it to my NG connection. The pressure to my water heater was steady at 2 ounces per sq. in. (not a typo, ounces not pounds). At first that did not run after numerous attempts. Luckily I had a battery connected and used the electric start. I then applied the choke and it fired right up, but started sputtering. I then set the choke to half way and it ran, but would not run with the choke at full open. I then adjusted the screw that has the spring (assuming the mixture setting) and backed it out several turns until I could open the choke to full open. Then it ran great.I have no data on how much load it will take with a 1/2" line feeding it, but at least it runs smoothly.

Works Great!!!

Bolted right on and works flawlessly! Much easier than trying to rebuild the original gunked up carb and now added the option to run on propane!! Very happy with purchase. Had to re-use the choke arm attaching bolt from the original carb as this one did not include one... no big deal. No modifications necessary on my 8750 Predator genny.

Fit an AI Power SUA10,000EC Generator

I did contact HIPA and they said this GX390 carb would not fit the A I Power SUA10000EC. However as near as I can tell the AI Power Generators use the GX390 style carb from the 7000 model to the 12000 model so I gave it a chance. HIPA was right about fitment. The airbox has a breather tube that gets in the way, and the carbon filter on this generator is also slightly in the way of the bowl drain valve on the carb. BUT that's an easy fix. I relocated the breather tube by 1/2 inch and shifted the carbon filter a few inches and it fit great.Turned on the propane, bled the propane line, and hit the starter and it fired right up. Switched back over to gasoline, hit the starter, and it fired right up. What a great upgrade for $38 bucks!
