This is awesome to encourage a kids' love for science and engineering. It is good if the kid is younger for the parent to help them out.

DO NOT BUY THIS! THROW YOUR MONEY IN THE BIN INSTEAD!This kit seems as if it was designed on a computer adn nobody actualyl tried it out to discover that it doesn't work. The diagrams show pully and cogs hovvering in mid air. There are no complete models that can actually stand on the table. The first example of a pulley, for example, needs FOUR hands holding the various parts up in the air and down against the table so that the model can operate, and then another pair of hands to actually pull the weight up on the pulley. The pieces are so flimsy and badly proportioned, though, that no matter how careful you are, the entire thing falls to pieces at this point anyway.To make sure I was not making a mistake I got my husband who is a mechanic, to check it. He could not believe I had the whole kit, or that the "instruction booklet" was nothing more than a a pathetic little scrap of folded paper. To make our son happy, he created a usable geared pulley system using cotton reels and string and corrugated cardboard, a lever using a ruler and more cardboard etc.If you buy a good clear book about the six simple machine you can actually make your own models which actually work.I wish it were possible to give a product zero points. I was utterly ripped off with a product that simply doe not caontain anything useful and does not do what it says on the box. I will never buy anything from Thames and Kosmos again.

Great product to help teach kids physics concepts.

It's good. The parts size is tiny. Little difficult to assemble few items.

The set itself seemed nice, however, it was missing a few things, the manual being the most important missing piece. I returned it to the seller.
