Not just for Camping- Portable bed topper too.
The purpose of this air mattress for me was to have a padded topper for travel bedding. In particular, for cruise travel.Commercial bedding tends to be Very firm and I can't get good sleep on a hard mattress. This product has two components that make it a good use for softening a hard bed.First, it has some padding. 2nd- it uses air inflation.Third- It is also light weight and the size makes it stowable in checked luggage.I used this pad on an 11 day cruise and never had to add air.I bought one for me. The DH said he didn't need one. When we got home from the cruise, he wanted me to order one more. Wink.It holds air so well, you have to compress it to reduce it. Not a bad thing. I expect to get good use out of this product.I will probably also use it for when the grand kiddo's come over.Unlike a traditional air bed ( that we have used many of ) there isn't enough air fill for kiddos to get a lot {of bounce fun} out of- hence it may survive longer. The only negative is it is narrow. For a generous sleep space, two would be needed. It has adequate length.

May not be strong enough for adults UPDATE: 18Feb2017 after Seller Response
Poor Build Quality. When I unboxed the mattress and tried it out the first time on my carpeted floor, two of the circles that form the pillowed shape broke when I laid on it. Circles are cut out of the foam pad and the two sides are pushed together and held by glue in the circles, which creates the square pillow sections I am 168 lbs Seems poorly made. Also, because there are holes cut through the foam pad, body parts like elbows and hip bones will hit the ground if they are in one of the circles. Also has a very unusual warning on the instructions page which makes it unsuitable for camping: "Do Not put in car or in tent in sunlight"*********************************************************UPDATE: 18Feb2017********************************************************* I initiated the Amazon return process the day I wrote the review above and I also purchased a Coleman self-inflating pad to replace it. (Coleman: Coleman Self-Inflating Camp Pad with Attached Pillow). At the time, the Coleman was about $31. Today, however, the Coleman is $39. Either way, it is significantly less expensive than the Geertop. When I got the Coleman, I was relieved because it was everything I hoped the Geertop would be. It is at least an inch thicker and built out of more durable materials and appears to be better-made than the Geertop all-around. It is also extremely comfortable - more comfortable than any memory-foam camp pad I've tried. The Coleman also does a much better job of self-inflating and does not come with the warning about not blowing in air with your mouth that comes with the Geertop. (Of all the self-infllating pads I've tried, the Geertop is the first I've seen with a warning to not add air with your mouth (a few breaths greatly speeds inflation time).) I liked it so much, I bought a second one.Back to Geertop: after receiving the Coleman, I received an email from Geertop asking about my experience and why my review was so low on Amazon. They also said I didn't need to return it. I told them I had already initiated the return and wasn't really interested in keeping it anyway. The next day, I received another email from Geertop saying that they had changed the warning about sunlight I mentioned in my first review and that they wanted to send me another pad for free in hope that I would have a better experience and amend my review. I told them I didn't think it would be a good idea because I was happy with the Coleman and not likely to change my review if the second one was the same quality as the first. Nevertheless, they insisted and sent me a second pad to review. (This is the first time I have been given anything connected with a review and I always wondered how some of these "power-users" seem to get dozens of free products for writing reviews. Given my conclusion below, it will probably be my last . . . )When I received the second Geertop, it arrived in good shape and looked identical to the first pad they sent. The wording of the instructions/warnings were changed and now they make much more sense than before. I give credit to Geertop for making this change so quickly. I then unrolled the pad and opened the valve to let it fill with air. I left it alone for a few hours while I did other things since these pads need extra time when you first buy them to get air in after being flattened by a very strong machine at the factory. When I came back to it, it had inflated, so I sealed the valve and laid down on it to test it out.Just as with the first pad, I was not impressed with the amount of inflation this pad achieves. The Coleman is at least an inch thicker and has better quality memory foam. Also, I had the same problem with the "dimples" that form the quilted-looking squares. When your knees, elbows or hips is in one of those dimples, you feel the ground beneath because there is no foam padding in those circles, just a think piece of the plastic cover. It is not very comfortable. As expected, the "second chance" at the pad did not change my original gripes (save for the change in language on their instructions, which was a good move by Geertop). Then things got worse: I went to put the pad away so that I could write this review. I unlocked the valve to deflate the pad and started to roll it up per the instructions. As I was rolling it up and pressing the air out - TWO OF THE CIRCLES BROKE!! I couldn't believe it - the same problem I had with the first one! Those circles in the "dimples" are just the 2 sides of the pad glued together where the foam was cut out. Obviously, the glue isn't very strong. The amount of pressure I was putting on the pad to push the air out was certainly less than the weight of an adult.Bottom line: This pad is not built well and I don't recommend buying it. (Especially since the Coleman is much better and less expensive.)Since Geertop went out of their way trying to make me happy, I'll list the advantages of the Geertop that I can see: When comparing to the Coleman, it has some features that the Coleman doesn't 1.) Geertop comes with a storage bag in addition to the straps; 2.)The Geertop has snaps running down its sides so that you can "mate" numerous pads so that they are attached if you want to make a large padded area; 3.)The Geertop is lighter: 3.3 lbs (1.5kg) compared to the 5.4 lbs (2.5 kg) Coleman.Geertop has excellent customer service. They followed up on my negative review and were always fast to respond. They definitely try to make their customers happy and they are extremely polite.

Does not self inflate
The pad came as directed and swiftly, having said that the pad did not inflate on its on. I kept trying to close and reopen the gas valve and very little air flow was coming in. I waited a couple hours to see if it was just slow but nothing happened. Also was a little disappointed that I had to manually inflate the pillow. I guess you get what you pay for. I'll be purchasing another product that actually self inflates.

Fills up very nicely but usually add extra air for more cushion
Used it twice now. Fills up very nicely but usually add extra air for more cushion. Only warning I'd have is sleeping on an air pillow can be extremely uncomfortable if you're used to a soft one, so be prepared before you go camping!

Great for camping or sleepovers, a little bulky for hiking.
Bought one of each color. Blue one had a bad valve after 3 or 4 uses. Did get a refund, so no complaints. These are rather large for hiking so you have to strap on the outside of your pack, but are manageable.Very comfortable pad and pillow built in so for camping or sleepovers this pad is perfect for.

Very thin
This is not any thicker than the traditional foam sleeping pads. It's also not terribly small/portable. Several adults 5'5" to 6'2" have tried sleeping on this during camping tricks. No one enjoyed it.

Heavy, bulky, not comfortable. Keep shopping!
I am not into this purchase. It is bulky, heavy and not comfortable. I borrowed my friend's backpacking inflatable pad and it packed up super light and small and it was more comfortable. I would say keep shopping. I wish I did!

Poor workmanship! Left me in a bind.
I bought this mattress pad to use when I went out as a wildfire team member...this piece of crap didn't even stay inflated for an hour the first time I used it. I couldn't return it as the time was up. If you buy be sure to check it right away as the seam was not sealed on mine. Won't be buying this brand again!!!

Great mattress
This mattress is both thick and lightweight, and self inflated easily when set up. Great quality, comfortable to sleep on and very compact and portable, this mattress arrived very quickly and the communications from the seller were excellent. Recommended!

Bad design
The pillow inflated lower than the air bed. The divets in the air bed are quite extreme making the whole mattress really uncomfortable. We tested it twice on different occasions and the same thing happened and then it got a puncture. Waste of money.

Bought 2 they both leaked to varying degrees on my holiday. I spent several very uncomfortable nights before replacing with an old fashioned air bed.To be fair to the seller they offered a full refund or 80% if i didn't want the hassle of returning them. They also said they have revised the design and the newer models are much less likely to leak, Not much help to me lying on the floor in the middle of Austria though.
