Excellent bits

I recently purchased the Dewalt drill bits set, and I am beyond impressed with their performance and durability. From the moment I unpacked them, I could tell that these bits were designed with quality in mind. The set includes a variety of sizes from 1/16” to 3/8” which has been incredibly useful for my DIY projects around the house. One of the standout features of the Dewalt drill bits is their sharpness. They cut through wood and metal with ease, making the drilling process smooth and efficient. Each bit maintains its edge even after extensive use, which is a testament to the premium materials used in their construction.Additionally, the design of the bits minimizes slippage, allowing for precise drilling without the frustration of constant adjustments. The bits fit securely in my drill, further enhancing their reliability.Overall, these drill bits are a worthwhile investment for anyone in need of a tough, long-lasting, and versatile set. Whether you are a professional contractor or a home DIY enthusiast, these drill bits will not disappoint. Highly recommended them.

5 Stars – High-Quality Drill Bit Set for Versatile Use!

The DEWALT 14-Piece Drill Bit Set (DWA1184) is an excellent addition to my toolkit. These bits are well-made, durable, and deliver outstanding performance across various materials, including plastic, wood, and metal. The 135-degree split point design is a game-changer—it prevents the bit from walking and ensures precise, clean starts every time.I’ve used these bits on multiple DIY projects and have been impressed with how efficiently they cut through materials without dulling quickly. The set includes a good range of sizes to cover most tasks, and they come neatly organized in a sturdy, compact case for easy storage and portability.Whether you’re a professional or a DIY enthusiast, this drill bit set is a reliable choice for everyday drilling needs. It offers great value, durability, and precision, making it a must-have for any toolbox. Highly recommended!

Complete set for home DIY project

I only do minor projects in my home and these are perfect for my needs. A brand I trust, good value, good variety of sizes. These worked very well drilling into wood and drywall.Easy to load and secure in my Black and Decker cordless drill.Nice organizing case too.

Excellent Drill Set

This is a really good quality drill bit set at a remarkable price. I started looking for a small case to keep drill bits organized, and I soon found out it was about as cheap to buy a set of drills with a case, as to buy a case for existing drill bits. So I ordered this: case, bits and all, and I am so pleased that I did. The bits are very professionally sharpened with relief ground into the bits to make them easier to push through the target metal (or wood), they are very sharp, and they should last a long time. The case is nice, and finally: the bits range up to 1/2 inch, which is so much handier than my old case that only went up to 1/4 inch. All this, with a recognized name like Dewalt on the case!

Good value

Overall, I’m really happy with the DEWALT 14-Piece Drill Bit Set. The quality is top-notch, and the bits are sharp and durable—I’ve used them on wood, metal, and plastic with great results. The variety of sizes is perfect for different projects, and the carrying case keeps everything neat and easy to access. The only downside I’ve noticed is that the bits tend to walk a little bit when drilling, which can be frustrating at times. Still, for the price and overall performance, it’s a solid set and I’d recommend it!

Start with the obvious - they are bits and they work or they don't. (They work)

I've bought the Dewalt banded kits a few times. Usually it's because I was at work ,bits were at home - fast forward there's two partial boxes of Dewalt bits. Excluding the fine bits these go out one of three ways: 1) They get left or lost. The quarter inch one is usually run to death and replaced. (That's a win, win.) The last thing that happns is the drill bits in middle of the night and run away.I run through a ton of specific sizes - especially when I have to use the really fine bits. If I slow down, or better use a placement jig ,they do great for littl tiny bits that regardless of brand if used wrong a 20v drill rips them in half. If I just used it around the house I might only need one or two new individual bits. Between leads and managers we all know what's going to break fast and I stock spares 3/8" and down we have bulk baggies, same with driver heads that we burn through. Dewalt sells those in a tic tack like box except full of #2 or #1 Phillips, or in at least 3 lenghths of telco screw drive. Here's the diffference if you haven't seen a new one recently - the box seams better made which you wouldn't think would be my main comment. the smaller bits up to 1/4 are what we use the most of. The upper end of any drill set like these in our area get used less. he main time I use a 1/4 or up is if I have to install a new backer board to add more blocks or tear out and replace it. Then the toggle bolt hole is always above a quarter. (The like 2 times a decade I do that any more.)I get decent value out of the bits overtime but as I collapsed the scraps of drill sets from May past, the little dewalt boxes are really useful. The one's a got a couple of years ago weren't as good. During this trip I pulled our one bit, matchd it to the toggle bolts and drilled the our holes needed to put up another 2x2 plywood squre to mount some more stuff related to a new circuit that drops tomorrow.I have a few Dewalt bits I'be been using since at least 2000. I don't use them alot but any time we add a floor and have to make bigger holes, or need a flex bit that's around 36" long - not one of those things have broken. Even when I got them in the late 90's or by '01 - I never bought them again because I'm still using them. On top of that the sharp surfaces are still ... sharp enough to cut your fingers if you didn'tput it back in the twisty case that protects the cutting side. There regular bits hold up where I'd expect, the smaller ones break about where I'd expect it about 2 seconds after I know I'm crooked about getting ready to snap it. I have but one complaint. If I duck into an electrical supply, and hoestly the plumbing ones usually have them too, you can find bags of 10-20 of the stuff that breaks or wears out fast - prety much 1/4" and down (the finer the faster you break it), as well as common screw head tips. I've got no issue with their longevity, lots of us end up have to use those at angles I'm pretty sure would make in instructor at the corps of engineers wince. I used to wait until they got really bad but it cost me more time and money and more than once ended up leaving a blemish that I knew was there. The only way I can quantify it is if I had a pack of indexed bits someone grabbed from Harbor Freight, the last time I tried them they did seem to either dull pretty fast or break fast. (Even though a 1/4 is on the line of easy to break / might last - I have't broken a Dewalt one in at least 3 years. I dulled or had the others break (there's other brands way worse than discount tools at Harbor Freight, )I always wondered why they didn't have a subscription service or a reup service like you can get with snap on but doesn't require a kidney and second mortgage to join.I know a bunch of guys that way out spend me or anyone on the Telco/Data/or IT side. That said, since the battery change over I'm guessing I'm some were around the price of a Sonata nicely equipped. I can't recall buying something from dewalt and being instantly disappointed .The one and only time I got a defective tool at the start I was still in the lot outside our distributer and the rep din't ask for paper, apologized and handed me another full box, (Unlike the big box store f you catch them at a supply house doing a promo you can score extra stuf...)The only thing they don't make that I'd buy on the spot if they did would be a power electronics screwdriver. I have manuals, it unless I'm really hard up I don't crack laptops to fix them, since many things from a cost/benefit perspective it's easier to grab one off the shelf, pull the hard drive and recycle the rest. The two brands I saw people use were very cheaply made, the bits seemed soft (I'm talking like a phillips or torx 0 or smaller, and the only place I run into them is in computers or network gear.)i only tend to buy outside of Dewalt for some specialty bits they and the other tool makers don't make, min are 20 and counting now and they are pretty much good. In that twenty years I didn't need to refile the edge until right after COVID started and the weird stuff we spend alot on in case we have to try to fix something if we can't replace it fast enough. (We used to actually really reapir alot of that but at this point the hours donw + the cost of staff adn specialty tooling mandatory to solder that small - I could chuck 10 laptops twice a year in the ocean and it costs less)KPI's - all staff, using either company, or personal tools uiformaly use Dewalt, we still have the old batteries around for some things we don't use much. The bits sold by dewalt either exceed or go for a record as on of the more expensive bits I bought at our supplier was purchased in '99 or '00 and it is nearly perfect. Since the second batteries rolled out we've lost nothing due to wearing out or failure, even stuff that is used day in and day out enough to be on the end of their second battery replacement or in their third. (This is both a battery issue and specifically a Lithium issue. It's not unique to them or even involve them as I'm willing to bet the actual "cells" of the battery are Panasonic, just like many hybrids globally. Even when we monitor the recommended switch out schedule these things are testing as good - burning out closer to 9+ months after anticipated. )On the bits themselves - I have broken tons of the tiny ones over the years. (made by everyone, not just Dewalt) One of my main cable pullers, a shift lead when they reported to me in the data center did have more break than normal, I called the number- it surprised me when they called back. They sent him a better set andonly wanted the actual bits left back and broken pieces we could find. If a company is willing to back a sliver of metal and make it right when it's a grey area (honestly my first though is alwasy I or they were distracted just long enough to gun the trigger and snap it.)With the exception of having to buy a specialty bit that Dewalt doesn't make, or the store doesn't have on the shelf, I've been impressed - especially when it came to bits that you hope you only buy once. The only bits I move down the isle for are specialty masonry bits, SDS chisel bits (sometimes those are Dewalt, and when they aren't - at least I bought their SDS hammer.) The weirdest one's that were bought before they sold any like it are some strage bits used in line purlls to drill through studs or the top / bottom plate with limited visibility. Should they ever wear out then it is either new Dewalt bt time or I'll be retired on a beach in Australlia or someplace else with warm waterAlmost forgot, When we work with a variety of anchors for reinforced concrete Generally we buy the exact recomended brand and bit for each anchor type - has noting to do with efficacy or not trusting theirs. f something goes wrong no one can question buying from another third party. (I set the masonry anchors that just look like a colored strange screw myself, using a P2 or T2 bit in a impact driver. (If it needs a pilot the drill is dewalt - the bit is whomever made the anchor. (I jsut pushed the "I believe that explanation button" and moved on. Some legal risk... L&I conversations frequently drive a knee jerk reaction that can cause things to be worse. )Dewalt and Kein have always backed thier products. They've replaced things they didn't need to as a good will gesture. The DeWalt guys were always very helpful. (I also like that bright yellow on bit cases and gear - I can tell if we might of left stuff.
