Love them, but waiting to see how they hold up.
They've only been out for a week but we've had a ton of rain and so far, so good. The motion sensor works great and I was able to position the one by the front sidewalk so that it doesn't come on unless someone is very close to my hard-to-see single step. So much better than the solar light which only works after a full day of sun -- kinda pointless in a normal climate and completely useless this summer! One suggestion: The three-way switch lets you turn it off, on for motion sensing only or for motion sensing dusk to dawn. The dusk-to-dawn feature keeps the motion sensor off except at night, which is great for battery conservation. Having used it a week, I'd be happy with a dusk-to-dawn only feature. The soft light is plenty most of the time for my house.Update: One of these, which was in more direct rain than the other, had about a quarter inch of water in the lower chamber. It still worked, but..... I opened the battery compartment, and there might have been some water in there. It was hard to tell because the outside was so wet (should have used a towel first! :) Electrical things will work when wet (some of them), but moisture will corrode the batteries over time, so now my love is conditional -- depending on how long they last outside. Inside, I expect they would be fine.

First impression: Lots of light without blinding you. Modern looking. Almost Art Deco.
I'm usually drawn to the Old Farm style of decor but like these a lot. They are modern, almost Art Deco looking with a cool white not a warm yellow light. The squares light up brightly, distinctly, with no hot spots. I hate motion lights that blind me as I approach.I have them mounted about two feet up, six feet apart. They cast light across a meter wide path. I approach them from the side walking quite close to them. I wish the motion detection was slightly wider so they would turn on a tiny bit faster... not to see the path better because they work perfectly for that but so I can see THEM glowing off ahead of me looking so cool... which, come to think of it, I could see if I were to set them to the "dim glow" option. There are three options on the switch (which is accessible without removing a cover.) 1) Off. 2) Motion, which turns on the bright lights when it detects motion at night. 3) Dim Glow and Motion, which means the lights cast a dim glow all night and light up bright only when motion is detected.I have mine set to Motion. I think I will set one to Dim Glow and see how much that shortens the battery life. I'm not sure I want to have them all set to dim glow because I do not want to attract the attention of folks wandering the streets at night. No need to say, "Hey, lookee here!" along a secluded path down the side of my garage.Another bonus is that I can get into the battery compartment without tools. I can use my thumbnail to turn the lock screw. I LOVE that. I also love that the switch is accessible without removing anything. Though its kinda big for this, I will put one into my travel bag to set up in motel rooms. Can easily turn it off for travel, then turn it on at the room. Perfect.... well, "perfect for motels" would be a small (golf ball size) motion light that uses AAA batteries that doesn't blind me that has an Off/DimGlowMotion/Motion switch on the outside.I haven't had them long enough to know if they let water into the compartment. I'm going to assume "no leak" until they leak. I live in the USA, in western Washington State which is known for being very, very rainy. If these leak I will update this review and complain loudly. Haha!Yet another thing I like about them is that they are flat on the bottom and balanced such that they can stand upright without problem. We already used one on a picnic table at night. I liked that there was no distracting light while I roasted my hot dog in the fire yet the table got politely lit up (no blinding hot spots) while I put the fixin's on the bun. These lights come in sets of three. You will get three very nice motion lights with fresh batteries and hanging screws (and plastic thing for dry wall installation) for $9. That is a really good deal. I ordered three more packs... which is 9 more lights. Can hardly wait to have Dim Glow Motion lights guiding folks down the path to the outhouse where we camp. Could also set some in the woods to light up when animals approach. That would be fun.UPDATE: I still love these lights. They survived an absolute downpour without leaking. They cast a usable light even when set on the ground. They cast a light much further than the review above implies. If installed higher than two feet up, they would cast enough light to see a path three meters across, I think. They are quite bright. Which is good for paths but not so good for a sleepy midnight tippy-toe to the bathroom in a motel. They are too bright for quiet hanging out in a tent. They are perfect for marking the path to the outhouse, marking the steps on your RV, along your fence to reveal intruders, and at a gate so you can see the latch. I haven't yet set one to the DimGlow mode so I can't report on that yet.UPDATE 2: We have a single-car-garage sized storage unit with no lights. We used several of these for 3 days, 5 hours per day to paw through the boxes while getting ready for a yard sale. Was a perfect solution. We could read book titles and see that's a cut out obituary, grandpa's wood carving tools, mom's bowling pins, etc. A dim but quite usable light for that too. Batts lasted whole time and are now lighting path outside again. VERY happy.

I can see clearly now!
LOL ... my car sits in my carport just feet away from my neighbors bedrooms so I can not leave my porch light on all night (it keeps my neighbor awake). So since crime has escalated in our ward I wanted something to help deter people from sneaking around my back porch and carport. I wanted to put up solar lights but there is not enough sunlight to keep them powered. I saw these and bought two packs. I placed two at the entrance to my carport and two out on my back porch. Now when I come home after dark I have lights to see whats around me and I feel safer. Plus if anyone sneaks around the lights hopefully will scare them away. I put two more in a dark hallway inside the house to help save electricity. I use rechargeable batteries in them to save even more...These lights are bright and does illuminate when someone approaches. I may get a few more to put in my front yard under a tree which doesn't get any sunlight (so I can't put up solar lights). I think these are a worthwhile investment...

2 our of three didn't work for more than a week.
I dunno how everyone else found these to be so incredible. I had 2 fail and it ate through rechargable batteries. by the way, these were a exclusive Costco product. you will receive no support or warranty past Amazons return date.

So glad I bought this lite
Very Happy with these motion sensor lites. They come with 3 AA battery's for each of the 3 in the package. They come with screw and anchors but I used zip ties to attach to my 3 poles of my outdoor porch. I have 2 cats and wanted to know when they come onto the porch at night. {they are Feral. cats, outdoor cats } The motion sensor works great and gives plenty of light. Also wanted lights when going out at night. Used to go out at night to put out the garbage in the dark, But with this crazy world we live in I want all the light I can get. 3 setting on each lite .1 Off -- 2 On with Motion sensor and small lite or nightlight . {not recommended because it will run down the battery,} #3 ON with just Motion Sensor. Recommended only works at night. goes on when someone or something goes into the sensor zone. Being that the lights use battery's I suggest doing as I did Buy rechargeable battery's and a charger. It will cost more upfront but in the long run you will save a lot of money. Again I recommend these lights.

Not working after 5 months
Product worked great initially. After 5 months, one of the lights no longer turn on. Maybe the bulb burned out? Then 6 months later, the second light stays on all the time even under the sensor setting, or when on the turn-off setting. Basically would not turn off unless I took out the batteries. This was a 3-pack I purchased. Only one light is working. I do not recommend this product
