Trend 30 Piece Router Bit Starter Set, 1/4 Inch Shank, Tungsten Carbide Tipped, Aluminium Case Included, SET/SS31X1/4TC

I agonised for some time over what to buy for my new router as I needed 1/4" shanks rather than my nice set of 8mm Dewalt cutters. Im a keen DIYer and like to buy the best tools I can however I didn't really want to pay too much for my occassional use. It would have cost me around £30 to change the collet for some reason and decided I would rather have some shiney new cutters instead. I eventually decided on this set as it seemed like a reasonable price for a well known brand and fairly comprehensive range for any future projects. I am very happy that I did, they came well presented in a nice case with handy pictures showing the profile of each bit. They looked as if they were caked in thick grease which is actually a protective shell which ensures they are kept immaculate during transit. Best of all for me, the ones I wont use for a while are kept in great condition during storage.The cutters are well machined, razor sharp and the ones I have tried gave a brilliant smooth cut on oak wood. The bearings on the guided bits are smooth and give confidence in their ability.I was tempted to try a cheaper set but im glad I went for these and at £2 a cutter, its actually very good value for money!

Haven’t used them all yet, but the ones I have were sharp and remained so. The case is handy for keeping them clean and organised.

Arrived with the very fragile see through panel completely broken and all the bits loose. Used the 1/2” 6.3mm bit to test a new Makita router and it snapped in 3 seconds!Tried a couple of other bits and they seemed ok. Returned for a refund. Purchased the 35 piece 1/2” set as it works out very good value. A little nervous about the strength of the thinner bits.

Good quality router bits, so far they are lasting well, ideal for my trent router.

The set itself is a good value, and provides good selection of bits at affordable place. At this point I used all of them at some capacity.Unfortunately one of them broke (bearing failed) on the first use (straight trim bit) - but upon contacting Trend support (via their uk website), they were very quick in dispatching a replacement, equivalent bit. This is the kind of service one expects, and what makes me want to stick with that brand for my woodworking tools needs (where available).thanks again Trend!

I was looking forward to having a decent organised collection of cutters but unfortunately upon opening it I found a mess . Cutters look good and no doubt will perform to trend standards but the organisation is very weak and the cutters will get damaged

Die Fräser befinden sich in einer stabilen Aufbewahrungsbox mit Klarsichtdeckel. Sie wirken gut und stabil Verarbeitet, ihre Schnitthaltigkeit muss sich noch erweisen. Sollte es da Negatives geben, werde ich berichten.Aber ACHTUNG: alle Maße in Zoll nicht metrisch!

Je cherchais un jeu de fraises en 1/2" pour exploiter pleinement ma défonceuse Triton montée sous table, les fraises en 8mm étant bien trop petites pour certains travaux. Les anglo-saxons ne s'y sont pas trompés et leurs machines puissantes avec ces gros outils en font des "mini toupies" très efficaces. Les outils de cet ensemble sont de très bonne facture. Ils comportent toutes les formes de base classiques (dimensions en pouces) et même une fraise à copier de 25mm de coupe, ce qui me manquait cruellement. Il y a aussi une petite fraise droite de 4.8mm très utile pour travailler au gabarit (motifs et écritures) et une fraise à épaulements guidée. En résumé, c'est un ensemble qui se distingue nettement des habituels produits chinois par sa qualité et que je recommande vivement à ceux qui veulent aller plus loin avec une défonceuse (assez puissante et disposant d'une pince de 1/2").
