AquaForte GardenSniper Heron/Animal Deterrent

I have been using this device for a couple of months now, and find it excellent at repelling the local herons and cats away from my pond (and the grandkids love it too). It's easy to set up, but beware of pressing down on the top of the unit! (It does mention this in the instructions.) Push into the ground by the spike only. Needs decent water pressure to work properly.

This is poorly designed and leaks from every joint. It’s really difficult to push into the ground as there is no natural point to put fut-ce upon. The fact that it comes with a roll of ptfe tape is a bit of a clue to how much it leaks!

The first Sniper arrived with missing essential washers and the hose connector did not fit UK fittings.I was very disappointed with the quality having had a previous sprayer from a different maker which was far superior.I returned it and the very next day received another again missing its washers and leaking from the hose connector.This is sad and the suppliers need to check that the equipment works before sending out.

This product is not fit for purpose. When connecting to a hose using standard connectors it leaks like a sieve from the connecting nozzle no matter how much PTFE tape is used. In order to stop it leaking the water pressure has to be reduced so much that the jet of water doesn't activate. Hopeless!!

Purchased for scaring herons form a formal pond. I works well in cloudy weather but bright sunlight triggers the water jet. An adjustable PIR would be an advantage. I have considered returning but decided to shade the PIR lens as the jet has worked well so far.
