I'm currently dealing with a folate/B12 deficiency due to a homozygous mthfr mutation, so I will need additional methylfolate/methylcobalamin supplementation. However, my doctor highly approves of this vitamin...It's extremely absorbable and once the deficiency is corrected, it will be excellent on its own for maintenance. Yes there's a strong odor when you open the bottle, but if you've ever taken Brewers Yeast, you'll recognize the smell. I've found something as simple as a hard boiled egg (good source of folate) with the vitamin prevents any stomach upset. After a week of daily use, the pins and needles sensation in my fingers has decreased, thyroid function is improving, cortisol levels are dropping and I have more energy. I like that the methylated vitamins process better, and I’ll soon have bloodwork done to see if my vitamin levels improve, but OMG on the smell and taste! It tastes like a cow that’s been fed Taco Bell for the past year took a dump in my mouth! That’s about the best analogy to fit how foul this is! Could they not come up with a citrus flavored gel capsule to mask this horrific taste?! Eewwww!
