Almost as soon as we bought these and they arrived, we had a big winter storm with a power outage. We'd just recently had another big storm and power outage, which is why we got these in the first place. My son and I were thrilled that some lights came on when the power went out! It was a much better experience than the previous power outage. We could see fine to get what we needed (lanterns. other flashlights, etc) whereas before, we'd been plunged into unnerving pitch blackness.These lights gave us a sense of calm and safety. The nightlights are very helpful in a soft blue-ish glow, which switches to a brighter LED light when the power goes out. They seem to be extremely well made for the price, and I bought a half dozen more to place around my elderly parents' home. The nightlight portion works especially great for their long hallway, and now I know that in a power outage, they'll be able to see to get around and not risk a fall, etc. I am a fan.

I hesitated on buying this after looking at a lot of the comments that were posted about issues people were having. However, after having a recent power outage that lasted 8 hours and using (various) scented candles to light up my place that ended up giving me a headache, I thought it was worth a shot because of how cheap they were. It is safe to say I am pleasantly surprised with how well these work. I put one in my hallway and the second in the living room. I didn't put one in any of the bedrooms because the night light function is a little bit too bright for me. I unplugged the lights to simulate a power outage and it illuminated the room pretty well. It's nice to know I won't suffer from another headache from using several different types of scented candles. 10 out of 10, I totally recommend.

These lights are awesome!! They function wonderfully as night lights and are sensitive enough that if there is any other light present they don’t illuminate. The fact that you will always have a functioning flashlight without worrying about replacing batteries is a huge plus. And should you need to use them as flashlights they are right there, just lift them from the holder and use. No more fumbling in drawers or cabinets for flashlights that may or may not work—-these ALWAYS work!!!! The sleek, slim design is perfect and if you plug them in to the upper outlet you can easily access the lower power outlet in your wall. I currently own and use 6 of these lights and am about to purchase a few more. Great product and I highly recommend its purchase and use!!

When in nightlight mode, the soft blue glow is brighter than your average LED nightlight and is not glaring in any way—very nice. When the power goes out, or when you pull it out of the conductive charger (nice) the tree LEDS come in in the low mode. Hitting the power button toggles the brightness settings.Now let’s be fair, these are two conductive charging LED nightlights for $20, so don’t go thinking your gonna get a big bright evenly lit beam of light. You get a light that is bright enough to navigate your house in a power outage. You’re not going to light up the tree tops across the street. :-). This aside these have a fantastic runtime when the power goes out. I got mine to burn for 6 hours before the light was all but useless.One more thing, unlike most cheap photo sensor lights, the photo sensors on these are pretty sensitive. They don’t turn on unless the room is fairly dark, so they won’t be running all day when the clouds come out. Totally worth every penny, bought several sets for my girlfriend and her daughters.

It would be a 6 star if they were motion sensitive. They are on all the time it is dark or in a not-well lit room. OK, just an led, low power. However, their value added operation is the "power outage" on status of the flashlight portion of them.The other night, I had the need for this option. I have a whole house generator that turns on automatically when the power goes out. However, the other night a transformer blew out in my neighborhood and my generator just happened to have a defunct starter battery (now replaced). My house was pitch black, closed up for the night. Street lights were out - nothing. I have a dozen or so motion sensor night lights distributed through the house (I have a chocolate lab and a black cat) so that I can avoid tripping over them and the night lights were ALL OUT. It was quite hazardous getting to my emergency flash lights.These lights take care of that problem very nicely. Power-Out - light-on! Also, they provide a quick pick-up flashlight that is plenty of light for navigating safely through the pet zoo. Placed strategically, they can be a life saver.

I live on a horse ranch in Northern California. When we lose power it is really really dark. These lights come on and provide plenty of light to be able to get around the house. I don't know how long the power fail light will last but it lasts at least 10 hours. As soon as I get up in the morning I start a generator that I run off and on all day to keep the refrigerator and freezer cold. This has provided plenty of "on time" to recharge the internal batteries. I think that it would help battery life if the power fail light was not as bright as it is. But since the light stays on all night with the power off I guess it doesn't matter.

Saw these in a place we stayed at. Plug them into any outlet and they act as a nightlight. Take them out of their cradle and they become a flashlight with 2 intensities. Great product

These lasted for me about 2 years before the flashlight function totally stopped working. The night light function still works fine. But the flashlight portion will eventually get dimmer and dimmer until it’s of no use and then will fail completely. Had it happen on both of the 2-pack of lights I purchased.
