It really does work. Powerful stuff!!
I received my Kilrock-K 250ml bottle today and used it immediately on our shower head - which was not functioning as well due to limescale clogging the water nozzles. Removed the shower head and poured half of the bottle into a bucket of hot water and submerged the shower head for about 10 minutes or so until it had stopped fizzing and the limescale had completely dissolved. Be sure to rinse it out thoroughly before using. This is powerful stuff! Wear rubber gloves when using as it can burn on contact with skin and do not breathe the fumes in, if you can. As it really irritated my throat.I used the remainder on our Breville Hot Cup. Which at the push of a button dispenses boiling hot water for tea, coffee etc. We've had it for about 2 years now and had never descaled it, but I was noticing bits of limescale coming out and also in the water chamber. So following the manufacturer's instructions poured Kilrock into a dispensed jug of boiling water, which I then poured back into the chamber and immediately began dissolving the limescale. Left for a few minutes, pushing the start button to allow the solution to run through the pipe and out of the nozzle. And it was very noticeable how dirty it was! This stuff is excellent, our Breville machine even operates alot smoother now. It doesn't spit and splatter out water through its nozzle like it used to, probably due to the limescale clogging it. It looks brand new and completely limescale free. Would definitely purchase again as delivery was quick and well packaged, but I'll go for the larger size next time as I want to tackle some stubborn limescale in the toilet bowl that the usual toilet cleaner has been unable to shift.

bob on, does the job well
diluted and sprayed on my bathroom taps because no matter how many times i clean them limescale still builds up around the middle of them and just under the faucet.it does have a slight chemical aroma so best to use in a ventilated area with rubber gloves.once treated I left on the taps for about 10 minutes as they aren't ridiculously scaly but enough to be annoying,I then filled the sink with warm water and used an old toothbrush to clean all the crevices, they have come up as good as new.for this purpose I would say the bottle should last a fair few months although it can be used for many other jobs which are listed on the bottle, such as kettle descaling, shower heads, irons etc.it has a dosing measurement for usage in a kettle which is handy but personally I use white vinegar in mine once a week since purchasing it and swish it till the limescale totally vanishes as I'm not really into using chemicals in something I'll be drinking from but if your kettle is pretty bad then this is a much more effective as the vinegar trick only works if you start it from day one and do it regularly. As this job wasn't listed for this particular descaler I was very impressed with it's effectiveness as have tried many ways of treating it and none had worked half as well.

My espresso machine works much better now
I've had a Delonghi espresso machine for about 4 years now. Never descaled it (not a native Brit, didn't appreciate the impact of limescale). I've noticed a significant decline in performance... water streams from the frothing wand when I'm pulling a coffee, and water drips steadily from the brew head when I'm frothing milk. Coffee takes longer to come out of the brew head. What you would expect, basically.Ordered this product after reading the reviews. The bottle is marked to show how much liquid to use for descaling one kettle, and is advertised for 3 descalings per bottle. I used 1/3 of the bottle as instructed, and followed the manufacturer's instructions for descaling my espresso machine, then gave it a good clean. The difference in performance is instantly noticeable - minimal drips and perfect espresso. And I still have enough product left for 2 more descalings, which I understand need to be done every 6 months. Highly recommended this product for coffee addicts. Just one word of caution (and I know this is obvious, but still)... When you're descaling, be careful not to inhale the steam from the machine. I did it twice by accident and it is NOT pleasant. This is concentrated formic acid (the same stuff that gives fireants their powerful bite).

Good stuff
My kettle was In need of descaling so I thought I'd give this a go after reading so many good reviews. It worked a treat in the kettle no problems at all cleared it in minutes. Now the iron was a different matter followed the instructions it did get alot out for the first steam whether that was it I'm unsure but didn't do much after that so using all the suggested liquid/water up didn't do anything more. I would recommend opening the windows and having as much ventilation as possible if doing an iron it's a overpowering vinegar smell but it gets in your throat and nose and is awful!

Simple and effective!
Once more Amazon satisfying a need fora simple to use product that was in danger of disappearing when our local hardware shop closed - thank you! This descaler is one of those that offers continuing excellent value with multiple doses from one bottle - so you can judge the amount that works in your area - mind you, we've very hard water in our area and a little goes an awful long way with Kilrock.Nothing to dislike - the directions tell you to boil the kettle [for example], let it cool a little, add the product carefully [as the reaction is instant, and you can add more], wait for the bubbles to stop, rinse a few times, and use the kettle - clean!Downside? Not one really, except that first-timers may be over keen to see what happens! Put the kettle over [not in!] a bowl and gauge how much Kilrock you need - remember, a little goes a long way, and you get a chemistry lesson to boot!
