Not sure its suited to low profile UK shower trays
This was purchased to prevent my shower tray from being clogged up after my wife or daughter use the shower. I've had to regularly clear the shower waste of long hair when the waste water runs out too slowly. This device makes is much easier to remove the hair as it sits in the drain and has two notches on either side that sit on the rim of the drain. This fitted into my shower drain quite easily as it is a soft rubber that can be squeezed/bent easily enough. I have found that the water runs out slower than I expected which is not too bad when the shower is turned on half-way but when on full power, the tray starts filling up - which is not what you want! This is designed in the US so I'm not sure if its actually more suited to US shower drains (different diameter of waste maybe?) or whether I have not fitted it correctly. I will be having a little play with this to see if I need to refit it again.

Appears to do the job, despite not being designed for UK
Not really designed for UK, so didn't know if it was really going to do the job.Arrived in time. First thing I noticed was how it didn't look like it was going to fit as per the instructions. Our shower has a little plastic "topper" plug (see photos: the circular 6 sectioned piece) that comes out that itself is about half an inch deep. Then underneath that there is an insert (see picture again) that, upon comparison,is about the same size and shape roughly to the showershroom. So I took the plastic "topper" plug out, removed the insert that was already in there, replaced it with this showershroom as per instructions, and found I couldn't put the plastic "topper" plug back on with the blade top protruding over the top. As I said, it's not designed for UK.I had to push the showershroom down half an inch, so the little blade at the top then made and an 's' shape and so there would be the space so I could put the plastic "topper" plug back in place (see photos).I contacted tubshroom on Facebook, and they only gave me a standard response that it "should" work. I then asked them if this is how I should use it in the UK, and they said, "Yes." So hopefully this is correct method for UK, but I can't see how to insert it otherwise. With it inserted like this, it doesn't seem to restrict the water flow.I bought this because my wife and daughter have long hair and as a result I have to use a wet vac once a month to get the hair out (tip I learnt from a hair salon). It's been in there for a week now. It initially caught my wife's hair, not as it stated it should, but it was unable to go down the plug, so maybe this first one was a fluke.Since then, whenever I have pulled it out, hair has been caught around it exactly like it stated it should do, so it seems is working? I wipe it with toilet tissue then throw the toilet tissue and hair in the bin. That's numerous lots of hair not going down the pipe where it will wait for the next wet vac episode in order to be removed. And when I remove the showershroom, there's no smell down there anymore as used to accumulate. However, as it has to be pushed half an inch down, the bottom lip unfolds at the bottom which makes it rather stubborn to remove. It's not as easy as just sliding it out like it shows in the video with the way I have had to installed it and that's why I've dropped it one star.I'm keep thinking after a few inserts and removals, it's going to break, as I have to poke a screwdriver through the holes to get enough purchase in order to lift it back out.Like I say, it wasn't designed for UK, so I expect to be back to the wet vac method eventually.Let's hope I'm wrong and the flexible nature of it means it lasts. It's catching hair so far.

Expensive but worth every penny
I live in the UK and had my bath replaced by a shower last September (2020). I tried several drain traps to stop hair going through. None of them worked primarily because the floor of the shower was not even. I had been hesitating about ordering the showershroom because of the price and the reviews. I then realised I had spent more on the useless devices than the cost of the showershroom and ordered it in desperation. It worked! It took 5 minutes to install, collects all the hair and takes 2 minutes to clean. Job done at last!

Too long for our shower drain pipe.
It would be excellent if the length wasn't too long for our shower drain. The bottom collector part sits below the catchment ring, therefore, the hair basically bypasses. Check the length of your drain pipe before ordering. If its short as ours is, it doesn't work as it should. Its a shame as in principle, it would be an excellent item. My fault for not measuring before buying.

Good product, works well.
We used to have one of those drains in the shower that has a little basket in that you can lift out and clean, When we had the shower tray replaced the plumber fitted one without the easy clean thing. In no time at all I was having to put chemicals down there to unblock it. This thing works just as well. It no longer blocks. It's easy to pop out and clean. Arrived in 10 days from USA to UK.

Works in the shower
It did not work in my walk-in shower in the way stated. I turned it upside-down and it fitted well and worked ok, not as shown, but caught the hair inside it instead - seems to work ok. It came from USA. It is expensive, but worked. I tried the bath version, and that did not work in the shower, nor did it fit my bath, so try and see if it fits yours, if it does, it works well

Doesn't fit my shower stall drain
My fault for not measuring first I guess, but this doesn't fit my shower stall drain. I'm in a new build house so assumed I'd have a "standard" drain, but this is far too wide. Shame they don't make multiple sizes, as the Tubshroom 1.5" seems to be the size I'd need, but it states on the listing for that product NOT for shower stall drains.

Does the opposite of what it is mean to do
Check dimensions of your plughole first, this item is very wide. Also I find it restricted the waterflow so much that it was like my plughole was blocked. The reason I got this was to prevent this issue...
