Q: Will this charge a 36 volt battery? I received the charger and it only states 14.4 volts and 18volts?

Yes it does charge the 36 v , as do the other chargers that don’t say it . I’ve used my 36 batts on every charger metabo has and it works fine

Q: Will the ac power ports work with the batteries or do they only work when plugged in the wall?

The AC plugs are only active while plugged into a 110VAC wall outlet. The USB ports will run on AC or DC from a battery pack (if present) and after the button is USB button is pressed to activate the circuit. I checked the unit and the manual. The manual only mentions pass through AC rated at 1 amp while the unit is powered by AC.
