I bought this as I had to trace cables for a line of offices in a business center. Considering the RJ45 cabling looked like it had been woven together by a large spider at various junctions and was behind trunking, false ceiling there was little hope of getting a map of the cables fast. I thought i'd take a chance on the Proster Cable Tester as it was relatively cheap and I didn't want to fork out over £300+ for the more well known brands. I have to say, I was pretty impressed that this one actually picked up every cable run I checked and had the whole lot repatched in no time. It is reasonably accuruate and sometimes needs for you to use rotate the probe or change the sensistivity slightly. But overall a purchase I am happy to add to my list of tools!

I purchased this to replace a failed tester, which packed up after being connected to a POE socket.This one was cheaper. It has a number of tests but none of them seam to make sense when trying to select them.You are not able to identify crossed cables with this. The display just says 1-1 2-2 3-3 etc… even if someone miss wires the socket.The other side flashes lights on the probe. This is adequate but you’ll need to identify crossed cables using the light sequence.It does the job, but I wish I’d purchased the one I had before.

I’ve bought many of Ethernet testers over the past few years, this one is absolutely tat.Ridiculously poor quality. Poor tone and probe.Not even the battery cover clicks on correctly.How this is got good reviews is beyond me.

Mein 10€ Billig-Tester hat sich beim Patchkabel-Testen dazu entschieden, die Ader 3 immer als Durchgang anzuzeigen. Also Schrott.So viel mehr wollte ich auch nicht ausgeben, aber dieser Tester hier war dann mal so weit ok.Wurde in weniger als 1 Tag geliefert (!) und schon am gleichen Tag im Außeneinsatz. Bis auf POE alles getestet, funktioniert prima. POE war heute dran, gerade weil hier einige geschrieben haben, dass das nicht funktioniert. Anleitung lesen hilft, es geht. Wenn man erwartet, dass alles von alleine funktioniert, sollte man doch lieber jemanden rufen, der sich damit auskennt.Dieser Tester funktioniert jedenfalls, was ich natürlich nicht sagen kann, ist, wie lange das Gerät hält. Aber von der Auslegung her ist er schon so konstruiert, dass keine Gummi-Nopse und Abdeckungen da sind, die sich im Laufe des Gebrauchs abreiben, abreißen oder einfach verschwinden.Für das Geld jedenfalls eine gute Anschaffung.

Repère pas correctement le cablage sur le patch panel le bip est emis sur pleins de câbles différents et ne trouve pas la position exact.

je suis électricien, et il est très pratique pour le prix. Rien à dire et fais ce qu’on lui demande.

Me ha sorprendido su funcionamiento para el precio que tiene, cumple sobradamente si función, va bien para la comprobación de cables pero lo mejor es la función de rastreo, la forma en que facilita el trabajo es enorme. Es una odisea cuando tienes un punto de red sin identificar en el rack y tienes que revisar una conexión. Claro que hay aparatos para esto pero no están económicamente al alcance de todos, este funciona y es barato.
