Golden Island Natural Style Pork Jerky, Korean Barbecue Recipe, 14.5oz (Pack of 3)

Accidentally found this jerky a few years ago at Sam’s but as we all know they may have one day but never to be seen again. Well, went to Amazon and found it and they have it all the time or at least when I’ve needed to order.Give this jerky a try—so good. It’s sweet!

I love this pork jerky. I’m a pretty big fan of jerky, but this one needs an award 🥇!Beef jerky is just too tough! I’ll chew on it for 5 minutes til it just become a ball of beef I eventually have to spit out!I have not met a piece of this jerky I can’t chew! It’s flavor is top notch! I’ve never had Korean bbq but I think I’m going to have to find some if it tastes like this!I don’t even care that it’s expensive. It’s worth it!Happy new year!

UPDATEI learned that it is certain sellers that ship the small dry hard squares instead of the big juicy pieces.Stay away from the seller "U Want It We Got It"Changing my rating of this product back to 5 stars!My last order from "TheNewMall" had the big juicy pieces.This jerky had a recent change(2 weeks ago) that causes me to drop its rating from a 5 star to a 3 star rating.The change?1. They cut the jerky into small pieces. I like the big pieces as it's fun to rip strips off with my teeth as I snack on it.2. It feels drier now than before as well making it harder to eat.3. They also removed the plastic holder inside the plastic wrap, I guess to save money.This was my favorite beef jerky. I will buy it a few more times to make sure this is not a permanent change. If it stays the same, I will probably look for a new brand.Sad to see a great product become mediocre.They had a good thing going...not sure why they felt the need to change it.

They are a little pricey, but they are also very good.

I've bought this several times and I can say that half of the time I bought it, the actual jerky has been in 2 different condition. Still edible but depending on the condition, taste like they're completely different brands. Sometimes you'll get a bag full of this more hard, fine, long strip kind of jerky while other times you'll have this really dry and soft smaller cut jerky. The prior being what you see from images advertising the merchandise while the latter I felt tasted really stale, as if it was an offbrand product or used a completely different type of meat. I think if you really want consistently in this brand, you should go and buy it yourself instead of doing so online, that way you can examine the product instead of having random people select product they likely forgot to rotate dates. Though I'm sure there are some that can appreciate the latter described jerky, I much prefer the prior and it has just become a gamble at whether I get one or the other.

I'm Korean and my mother used to make bulgogi jerky at home. I have been disappointed time and time again with store-bought teriyaki or other "Asian"-style jerky. I saw this while I was shopping at Costco with my dad, and trusting Costco not to sell crappy products, I decided to try it. I'm not a big fan of pork, so I was a little apprehensive. I was delighted to find that the flavor profile and texture were just to my taste. The jerky is thin and tender, and the salt/sugar ratio is spot on (I imagine that many raised in the West may consider it too sweet, though). It could totally be eaten with rice as banchan if that's your thing. Because it's glazed, it's sticky--be prepared to wash your hands afterward. The package is resealable, so the moisture can be retained.Other jerky produced in America is like 50% salt and extremely dry, wiry, and thick, with chunks of strung-out fat that are impossible to break down. This stuff is awesome and I can't get enough of it.

I have lived in the third world and eaten lots of great food. With the tropic stacked wall to wall with COVID non-vaccinated psychos, this sounded pretty good to me for wilderness protein which is tough to come by. As an archaeologist I am not picky and have lots of great food under simple conditions. With all that intro, if my experience can help you then the money I wasted won't be in Vain. Perk up as this is not returnable. I have eaten all kinds of meat and vegetarian Jerky for the reason above. This stuff was full of gristle, fat and other textures I don't want to think about, but isn't any meat I have ever tasted. It is inedible. Also, for the few bites I mistakenly choked down, the flavor falls far short of anything else I have tried on Amazon or in the grocery store. I cannot even detect Teriyaki. This stuff is horrible, move on, Just for an experiment I bought some of the Noble Jerky which costs about the same, and it was really good. If you have money to throw away and don't care what you eat, then buy a pack, then go to the ER before your body has to deal with it.

My wife and I tried this for the first time today and already know this is going to be a regular purchase for us. It's amazing with both savory and sweet taste. It's got quite a heavy amount of garlic so if your not a fan would not recommend. However if you are like us this is a huge plus.

By far, the best Jerky I've ever had and I've had alot. Not only that but my wife AND two kids absolutely love it too, which is rare. I guess my only complaint is there isn't a lock on the bag to keep them out of my jerky!

It tastes like Korean BBQ and it's pretty tender, thinly sliced pork jerky. It's pretty sweet so it's kind of like candy. It also is seasoned with sesame seeds so it seems like you're eating real K-BBQ.Only thing that was annoying is the packaging. The resealable bag broke almost immediately. I guess that kind of packaging is hard to perfect. The reseal strip got torn off when I was reopening the bag. They should get that velcro reseal strip stuff instead for the packaging instead of the single ziplock-like strip.

Very tasty and tender
