Weigand No Drill and No Tap Mount for Ruger 77/22, 77/17.22 Rimfire.22 Mag.17 HMR

This is a good alternative for these excellent bolt action rimfire rifles with the "Ruger Rings only" receiver which factory rings are only 1" for these guns so with this mount you can go with any picatinny ring size, BUT if you have to go with a ring mounted to the very rear of this rail the "ring will contact the fasteners" which hold this mount to the receiver and the ring cannot lay flat in the slot or on top of this mount!!...That sucks so why do they even have the pica slots to the rear over the 4 fasteners? This became a problem for me when mounting a 30mm night scope with limited mounting space on the scope body and the scope was too far away from my eye because I could not use the last 2 pica slots in this rail as the screws were in the way. Simply put you cannot use the 2 rear slots in this rail as I have tried many mounts and they all make contact with the "rail fasteners" so your ring can't be mounted there! Other than that they are quality..The alternative is move your "rear ring" (and scope) 2 slots forward from the rear of the rail and deal with moving your head forward (in my case) to get a proper view in the scope or machine or chamfer the corners of the ring to clear these mounting screws and/or last use a #8 screw in place of the supplied screws/washers with a smaller washer which will give you the clearance but hurt your mounting strength...I moved mine one slot forward, kept the screw with washer and used the alternative screw for the second...
