when I tell you i was hesitant on spending this kind of money on a multi tool, I'm not joking. I'm so very glad my hopes were not dashed with the quality of this thing. I use this multi tool every day at work (Im a welder). it has been dropped, stepped on, run over, you name it... and this thing is still smooth as butter. opens and closes perfectly; nice little *snick* every time the locking mechanism engages the tool you use. I love that I can open and close this thing with one hand. it fits in my pocket, and is honestly the first thing I reach for if I don't have exactly what I need at hand. I would say this is a perfect tool for the price I paid, and it exceeds my expectations in every way. it is quite functional in every way I could ask of it. it still surprises me what this multi-tool can be used for.

This really is a good product.The SOG Poweraccess Assit MT is very sturdy and useful for many jobs. The metal finish is tough and durable. All the tools are well designed. The knife is VERY sharp. I really like the fact that when it is closed, it will hold any Apex hex bit in what turns out to be the back side of the pliers (and the hex receptical is magnetic). There is also a 1/4" socket drive tool. It comes with a set of Abex hex bits and a magnetic 1/4" square to 1/4" hex bit adapter. This makes this multi tool the most versatile I've ever used. If the included set doesn't have a bit you need, you can use any 1/4" hex bit you want. You're not limited to the included set.It is even possible to get replacement/additional tools and swap them out. It is a fiddly process, but if you have some mechanical aptitude and manual coordination, it shouldn't be too hard.However, in my case the first multi-tool I received was defective. Amazon's customer service was right on top of it and exchanged the product. I had the replacement the next day!The replacement was fine, hence the 5 stars. I really do like this multi-tool.I realize stuff happens in manufacturing and sometimes things slip through, but between SOG and Amazon, they made things right.Great Job Amazon Customer Service and SOG!!

The SOG PowerAccess Assist has been a real lifesaver. I use it daily in the Army, at home, and even while camping. The assisted-opening blades and compound leverage pliers make tough tasks easy, and the magnetic bit driver is perfect for quick fixes. It’s rugged, reliable, and packed with tools without feeling bulky. It quickly replaced my old multitool and hasn’t let me down since.

Own a PowerLock and PowerAssist for years and still have them. This new PowerAccess Assist is easier to use with all the tools accessible without opening the pliers. Having four assisted blades that are easy to access is great. Out of the box, had to adjust the assist as it was too tight and would clump with other tools when deploying. Having the bit driver integrated into the plier head is very useful, especially when used with a bit extender. Since the driver is in the center of the plier gears, this is more centered than Gerber's Centerdrive (own one too). Took off one-star as build quality is not as nice my older PowerLock and PowerAssist.

Service and product quality meet with my expectation.

I've been putting this multi-tool through the paces at my work. I'm a commercial/industrial HVAC and mechanical technician. All of my tools can get a beating at times. I have been very impressed with the durability and thoughtful placement of all its tools and how the compound pliers are designed. It's a very smooth action. When using the pliers. I would definitely recommend for people that do actual Hands-On work. I wouldn't consider it for an urban EDC type of tool, it's quite large and hefty and it has to be worn on the belt. Typically you want a smaller pocketable multi-tool with a clip for urban EDC.

I never reach for a tool LESS. It's too wide to grip comfortably, the thin sheetmetal edges dig into your palm for any tool other than the pliers. I have an older version thats much nicer, which made me think this brand was the best, but I'd never recommend this tool to anyone.

I have had multi-tools from a variety of companies, Leatherman, Gerber, and even older SOG units. This one is definitely my favorite.The power assist feature is absolutely worth it. I can one hand flip open the straight edge knife as well as the serrated. Keep in mind though, those two tools can only be flipped open with one hand, in your right hand. If you have the tool in your left hand, the two saws are flippable with power assist.The tools in the middle come out nice and easy, not overly tight like some others.Most of the middle tools are pretty standard affair, but the 1/4 drive socket head is the real star. Insanely handy.I LOVE the SOG pliers. They have the geared mechanism that makes it a force multiplier vs standard plies. Really genius.When the pliers are folded up, there is also a hex driver hole, and there is a little magnet in there that keeps the bit retained. Works great with the included bits, as well as other bits I have tried.The cutters seem great, and the crimper is a nice bonus, I have actually used those much more than I thought I would.All in all, I love this unit. It's big but still easily pocketable. Checks all the right boxes. Plus a lifetime warranty!
