It is a light scent…
I have used it for many years. I like the crisp and clean smell…not overly sweet or “perfumy”!

Great fragrance

It is almost as good as the original : )
I have loved Cabochard Eau De Parum since 1971. I knew it would only be the same as long as the plants and oils that made the original were available, and for long years have been unable to find this perfume, or anything to replace it. Finding it again is wonderful. The scent does not last as long as the original, nor is it as rich --- and I feel more like myself wearing it!

Does not smell the same. Cannot find "Gres" on the bottle as before.
This is not the same Chabochard of the past. It does not smell the same. I don't know if it is a knock-off or what but I don't find the word "Gres" on the packaging. I have a small quantity from several years ago and this does not smell the same. There is, what I can only describe as, a tobacco smell to it - not a cigarette but more like unburned tobacco. Very disappointed. I guess the price should have clued me in that something was not right with this product. Did Gres' patent expire??

I'm not sure about this fragrance yet... challenging but intriguing?
Seller note: This arrived 15 minutes ago. Note on the seller is that it was shipped via FedEx, was reasonably well-packed and arrived 2 days after buying, so excellent service there. One nice surprise is that it arrived in the original heavy, squareish glass bottle with the black bow and not the plain drugstore alternative pictured in the listing.Bought this as a blind buy after reading Fragrantica reviews and feeling fascinated by some of these old French perfume houses (Chopard, Coty, Gres) as of late. The thing to know in our day when you can buy many of their fragrances at drugstore prices is that the quality and artistry that went into these vintage formulations was top of the line in their day and they have generally maintained that standard as time wore on. This means you can pick up some really high-end fragrances at a steal of a deal if you pay attention to what you're buying. But as for Cabochard, just wow.First impressions:For someone that likes challenging fragrances where the Fragrantica notes read like 'everything but the kitchen sink,' Cabochard is going to have to sit awhile while I revisit it periodically to see what I actually think of it. Immediate reaction to the opening sprays is that I'm sitting three feet from my grandma's church choir rehearsal on a warm day. No joke, this is giving grandma vibes all over, and I'm old enough that I don't really say that about ANY fragrance. The box calls this perfume a Green Chypre fragrance and describes Cabochard as having a fruity opening, floral heart and leathery drydown-- but I'm not getting fruits OR flowers here in this first half-hour, it's just... SHARP and LOUD.At the same time I can't stop sniffing my arm. I don't know what's going on with this, or how other people would experience this fragrance. I definitely don't want to smell like I'm 80 years old. I had a similar hatred for two now-staples in my perfume collection, however: Varensia by Ulric de Varens and Awraq al Oud by Lattafa have screechy openings that smell like a thousand clashing things coming at you all at once. Both grew on me over time after I ignored them for a few months--wearing them around the house or to bed on occasion as they macerated. Upon revisiting, I discovered smooth, well-blended and very complex fragrances that take me on an enjoyable journey to a delicious dry-down each time I wear them.It could very well be the same experience here, and anyway I can't return it so I may as well be open-minded. Cabochard is one I WANT to love more than I DO love, but that's just right now. I'm going to continue giving it a chance. Will update in a few months with the findings.Note: The fragrance pyramid for the original 1959 formulation and the 2019 formulation are distinctly different. On Fragrantica, the 2019 formulation has no fruity or floral notes, but the box that arrived says it does. I am almost positive the 2019 version is what's being sold at this price and that if you want a 1959 bottle you're gonna have to shop around and pay a lot more. On my skin, I haven't picked up anything remotely fruity OR floral and I've had this on for an hour.

Not happy with size
The product was not the same as the picture. It was a very small version of the perfume. Not happy.
