Cable does not work as stated.
I purchased this 40ft optical HDMI cable to connect my receiver (Denon AVR-X2800h) that’s in my media closet to my living room mounted TV (Samsung 75” QN90b). Every time I turned the TV on it would re-setup the receiver connection as if it was seeing it for the first time. ARC worked, but eARC would not allow audio from TV back to receiver, just a popping noise. Also, every few minutes the screen would go blank for about 20 seconds then come back on. I was about to return the TV, but decided to try a different cable. Monoprice is my go to source for cables, but in this case I tried a different brand’s HDMI cable with the same specs and a lower price and it worked perfectly. So happy I didn’t return the TV because I love it. I did return this cable.

High Price, But Great Result
This immediately enabled me to achieve HDR while 4K @ 60hz over a 30' run from a Marantz 8805AV processor to an Epson 6050UB projector (I also had to switch the EDID signal setting on the Epson from Normal to Expanded). With my previously purchased Fusion 4K cable, I could only get 4K @ 60hz without HDR or 4K @ 30hz with HDR. I tried other, cheaper remedies for several hours prior to purchasing this cable, including replacing the shorter and cheaper HDMI cables from multiple sources (Xbox One X, Roku Ultra 4K, etc.) to the processor, to no avail. So, while not thrilled about the high price of this cable, I'm extremely happy with the result and, hopefully, it'll future-proof the run from my dedicated media closet to my projector for at least several years, so I'll consider the somewhat exorbitant price of this cable as money well spent.Edit: Even though this cable worked great, I returned it after a few days and bought two significantly cheaper Ruipro fiber optic cables, both of which also worked flawlessly for my needs.

Seems good
It wretched my heart to spend over 200 dollars on a 40 ft long hdmi cable that would be reasonably future-proof. But I finally came off it, and the cable seems to work great.I've probably had it for a couple months now and have watched many movies with no unexpected display drama. The signal is being transmitted at 4k @ 60 hz and my projector detects it at such, but then the 1080p projector downscales it.So, as far as I can tell, no problems and great performance.

Nice Construction but it didn't work as advertised
Monoprice makes great cables. However, I ordered two and neither worked for my 3070 to E9 OLED. Neither cable could achieve a greater resolution than 1080p at 120hz. I gave two stars because the materials and construction of the cable was good. My conclusion is either there were two defective cables sent or the product hasn't been thoroughly tested for everything they have advertised on the hdmi 2.1 spec. If you are wondering what I bought ,and what worked for me was the RUIPRO 8K HDMI Fiber Optic Cable 40ft HDMI 2.1 48Gbps. The Ruipro is an ugly cable in my opinion, but it got the job done. In the end that's what I needed.

40ft version helpful in removing “banding” in 4K content.
I got this cable to replace an old monoprice active cable that supported up to 4:2:0 subsampling in 4K. This cable supports chroma 4:2:2 and helped me to reduce the “banding” effect when trying to display a smooth gradient. I don’t have the newest gaming system so I can’t say how it behaves at 120hz.Setup:4K AppleTV->2ft unbranded hdmi->Denon AVR-X1300W->40ft monoprice cable-> OPtoma UHD35

Good cable
I replaced my earlier Ruipro 8K cable which had audio/video dropouts and jittery motion and finally died in 10 month. The audio quest copper 4K 1.3b cable performed far better. This Monoprice 8K cable has been working really well with no glitches for the pat 1 week since I installed it. Happy with this purchase

Not compatible with Sonos ARC.
This cable is very thin which made it very easy to route through my cable management raceway. It worked great with Nintendo Switch, Roku Ultra, and my old Blu-Ray player. It did NOT however work with Sonos ARC. Sonos would completely fail to detect the TV when connected with this cable.

Very satisfied
Cable is exactly what was advertised, 40ft cable supporting 4k 120hz from PC to TV. Would buy again

It Does Work!!
I bought a new 85" Samsung QN90a and wanted to test 120Hz with my Xbox Series X, my run is 50'. Delivery came today (but guy delivered to my neighbor by mistake) :) I opened the box and to my surprise the package that the cable was in was opened already (must have got a returned item). This didn't start well, although when I connected to cable to my Xbox Series X and then to the TV I received confirmation on 4k 120Hz VRR. I played a few games and the cable worked flawless (as it should at 200.00 CDN).Update Nov 25, 2022- Cable is still working flawlessly for a year now.

Not HDMI 2.1, cannot handle 4K 120Hz, let alone 8K
This cable is does not work as advertised. I just get a blank screen between my RTX 3080 and LG C9 OLED. I have another 3' HDMI 2.1 cable that handles 4K 120Hz 4:4:4 just fine. Stay away if you need 120Hz at 4K or higher.

Works well with the Series X and LG Oled
I usually don’t leave reviews but I’ll leave one for this because of all the negative reviews.I bought the 100ft version of this.I have this cable connected to an Xbox Series X and an LG CX. Everything, including Dolby vision (at 4K60 - tv limitation), works at 4K 120Hz. I haven’t had any issues. No dropped imagery or connection issues. Worked straight out of the box

Doesn’t work for 4k/120hz RTX 3080 LG C9
This cable does not run at advertised speed of 48Gbps. It will NOT work with RTX 3080 + LG C9 for 4K/120hz. Tested using the 30ft cable.Don’t waste your time.

Not even 4K certified
This product is misleading. Monoprice customer service confirmed this cable is NOT certified for 8k or 4k.
