Extends clothing wear

I have purchased this denim dye several times to 'refresh' my favorite jeans. It has truly extended the life of both my long jeans and denim capris. Hint: To get the most out of this product read and follow the directions exactly. I use my washing machine for this to soak items for over an hour: use pause and every fifteen minutes or so agitate the clothing to be sure it's getting dyed evenly. After use, I run an extra-large cycle of water and bleach to clean out the tub. I've been using Rit Dye like this for years. Not only for denim but other items as well. I have always been pleased with 'any' Rit dye that I've purchased and will continue to do so.

It works :)

After (on the left) and before. I cut the sleeves off this dress before I dyed it. I didn't like the pink, & the dye did a perfect job covering it. This is 100% cotton, so synthetics may not work as well. I used 10 quarts of very warm water & added the entire bottle of dye (more than called for, because I really wanted to get rid of that pink ;) and a cup of salt, as directed when dyeing cotton. Stirred every 5 minutes for about 35 minutes before rinsing.

When rinsed out multiple times it will have a bluish green tint.

I bought this to try and get a light gray so i had to wash the dye out a few times, but it turned more of a greenish blue gray than a light, just be aware! Im sure it depends on the type of fabric and how it absorbs, though. Still a great dye and would use again for something else, pretty color.

Love the color. So so pretty

I used the Rit Dye Liquid in Coral and absolutely love the color—it’s vibrant and gave new life to my garment! The dye took really well and the overall result turned out great. While it didn’t completely cover an old bleach stain, it definitely helped tone it down and now it’s barely noticeable compared to how it looked before. Super happy with how easy it was to use and the beautiful shade. I’d definitely use this again!

Sunshine Vibesss

I can’t keep anything white for the life of me. I got these weird yellow stains on my Mac hoodie and figured if it wanted to be yellow let’s just lean into it. Turned out better than I could’ve imagined. It makes me feel like sunshine wearing it. (Used *golden* yellow for ref)

Great for changing up $$$ running shoes

I have a pair of (almost white) running shoes that are impossible to keep clean. The only thing I could think of was to dye them darker. The RIT dye was easy to use, just filled a storage bin with water and the bottle of dye, and dunked the shoes for an hour or so. Color coverage was great. My Hokas went from pale gray and orange to darker gray and blue, unexpected surprise on the orange but I like this color combo much better.

Instructions could be better, results were meh

To be fair I tried to scotchbright the shoes first. That didn't work. Since I didn't want to spend every night washing my shoes, I decided my best bet would be to dye them. I bought azure blue. Does my picture look azure blue to you? After purusing Amazon, this product had the best reviews. Upon receiving my product and reading the directions, I had difficulty finding out what fabric was even on my shoes. Turns out polyester- which is apparently difficult to dye. I am going to tell you what I did in case it helps someone. I looked up a couple different sites including the manufacturers site. One site said plastic or glass is best to use and not metal because it can change the composition of the die but you are supposed to have the dye at 140 degrees or more for an hour. I couldn't figure out how to do that without using a metal pan. Then the site that discussed dyeing polyester said you had to put 1 cup of salt into the pot of at least 3 gallons and let it dissolve. The site said to use double the amount of dye for polyester so I dumped the whole jar in. I added the teaspoon of soap the conditioner advised and after stirring. I set my shoes in to soak for an entire hour. Now, the site told me I had to follow up with some sort of rinse set which of course I did not have. So I looked up home made alternatives. This is where I made my big mistake. I used vinegar. Too much I think. The site said 1 parts to 4 . And to use cold water. I filled up the sink. And put a cup in. It looked like the dye just came right off. The shoes are a lot lighter than I wanted and not as uniform in color. It will be better than the white. But it would have been better if the seller had told me when I purchased it that I would need another product. Or maybe even mentioned polyester on their bottle at all. I had to search it out and piece the info together and it ended up being more stressful than it had to be. So all you get is 3 stars for the hassle and my uneven dye job.

Read the bottle description

Dyed nylon very well. However be careful with certain stitching because the stitches didn’t take the color. Not sure what material the stitching is.
