Goodmans Oxford DAB and FM Radio - Sky Blue with Amazon Basics Batteries

Tested in Italy. The blug is BS 1363 standard, but swapping the cord with one with Europlug standard. Works also with six C cells to be put in the underside of the radio. Good reception both in FM and DAB. The downloadable manual isn't very clear on some aspects, for instance how to insert the batteries but the operation of the radio is east both in DAB and FM mode. The audio power isn't very high, but the sound is clear even if lacking on bass.The case is nice but a little 'plastic', especially because the chrome is not metallic but is molded, but the constructiom seems robust overall, even if doesn't resemble at all if looked closely an actual '60s transistor radio. The backlit digital display is a telltale sign but after a minute or so the illumination will switch off making the '60 look more credible.

I really enjoy using this radio, I had to buy 6 x D batteries for it but it seems to last me about a month before I have to recharge, thats with use everyday. The sound quality is good and the main reason I bought it is because its so nice to look at! The only thing which annoys me is it only has 3 presets, which is not really enough. But other than that, the controls are incredibly simple, the leather carry handle is really useful and it is generally a lovely radio both to use and to look at!

I searched long and hard to find a DAB radio that would work with a smart plug, as most nowadays have electronic buttons and therefore wouldn’t turn on when the plug is switched on. I took a punt on this due to its “click” on/off volume wheel, and it works perfectly. Sound is great, as is the overall style. I have absolutely no problems with the power lead, unlike some have reported. I got this “like new” from Amazon Warehouse Deals significantly cheaper than the brand new selling price, and you honestly wouldn’t know the difference. Brilliant buy.

Very pleased with our purchase. We did originally want the heritage radio but couldn't justify the price and actually so happy with the design of this one. It is smaller than I thought (not a problem though) and it was set up within a few minutes. Looks great and arrived SO quickly.

Great sound from this cute retro radio. The design is simply gorgeous and setting up was so easy. Had to hunt around online to find this one in porcelain white as wanted it to match my white kitchen. Friend has the sky blue one and that is a beautiful striking colour too.

What I was expecting and what I got are two very different things. The images and write-ups suggested that this would be a good looking radio with quality sound. Very far from it. It is cheap plastic, the sound is tinny even at low volume and it can't pick up a complete signal in any mode. I get a far better signal and sound using the radio app on my mobile and a bose mini speaker via Bluetooth. Waste of money. DO NOT BUY.

Fantástica radio. Estéticamente es preciosa y el sonido es grave, como en las radios de siempre. No la cambiaría por ninguna.

Es ist kein schwarz-glänzender Kasten (was man so "modern" nennt) und hat auch nicht das ernsthafte Aussehen desjenigen Radios, das ich sofort in meinen Seesack stopfen würde, wenn die Zombie-Apokalypse beginnt. Es erinnert mich an eine Zeit, in der die Uhren (gefühlt) noch langsamer gingen. Es ist leichter, als es aussieht. Es hat eine überschaubare Anzahl von Knöpfen, also sechs. Sendersuchlauf und Lautstärke+ An-Aus sind auf zwei Drehräder gelegt. Man kann nur drei Sender einprogrammieren. Es hat auf der Oberseite ein kleine Digitalanzeige, die Design-Puristen stören könnte, aber sehr praktisch ist. Man kann zwischen herkömmlichem Radio (UKW-Empfang) und DAB+ wechseln. Es wird mit einer Bedienungsanleitung in Englisch in formstabiler Pappe geliefert und mit einem englischen Stromkabel. Also an ein zweipoliges Deutschland-taugliches Kabel denken! Es gibt auch ein Batteriefach, um das Radio mit an den Strand zu nehmen (oder falls doch die Zombies kommen sollten), ich habe es aber noch nicht benutzt. Die Antenne ist nicht nur ausfahrbar, sondern hat tatsächlich eine Länge, welche den Empfang positiv beeinflusst, im Gegensatz zu den handelsüblichen CD-Radiospielern in einer ähnlichen Preisklasse. Ich bin zufrieden.

Wir haben ein Radio im Retrolook für die Küche ohne viel Schnickschnack, aber mit digitalem Empfänger gesucht.Beim Stöbern im WWW haben wir auf einer UK-Seite solche Radios mit weiteren Infos gefunden.Letztendlich sind wir bei diesem Radio hängen geblieben. Und haben es absolut nicht bereut!Es ist klein, sieht (für uns) super aus und die Bedienung ist selbsterklärend.Der Funktionsumfang reicht für uns hin, denn es handelt sich um ein Radio, nicht um eine Highend-Multimediaanlage!Da dieses Radio wohl aus UK kommt, ist leider nur ein UK-Stromstecker dabei, was nicht in der Produktbeschreibung steht (Stand: mein Bestelldatum).Ist aber kein Problem, da ein ganz normales "Rasierapparat-Kabel" passt!Für uns ist das kein Grund für eine schlechtere Sternbewertung!Daher volle 5 Sterne! Das Radio empfehlen wir sehr!

Die Lieferung war so pünktlich, dass ich echt überrascht war. Ein schönes Retro- Radio! mehr Sender müssen nicht eingespeichert werden, alles chic so und für den Ersatz des Kabels (wegen des England- Steckers) musste ein alter Fernseher herhalten. In das Batteriefach passen übrigens 6 R14- Batterien. Der Empfang ist auch wunderbar, bin rundum zufrieden.
