Avenova Eyelid and Eyelash Cleanser Spray - Pure Hypochlorous Acid, Gentle Everyday Lash Cleanser For Eye Irritation, 20mL (0.68oz)

A bit of my history: I’ve had flares of blepharitis for years… usually lasts for a few weeks and then resolves. I’ve found that eating a few tablespoons of ground flax seed every day keeps it at bay, and so I can literally go years between flares. In May of 2021, I had a bad flare in my right eye and my lower eyelid began to itch like crazy, became red, and my eyes felt dry. My lower lid itched so much it would sometimes wake me up at night. Was driving me nuts. Went to eye doctor, she took a look, and she gave me tea tree oil wash. It just made my eyes more dry and barely helped with the itching. I also tried heated mask …. Just made my eyes feel even more dry - nothing worked. Several months went by and I found Avenova online and out of desperation ordered it. I applied on night number one. Nothing happened. Applied on night number 2. The next morning I had very large sty on rim of my lower eyelid. I thought “oh no! This stuff gave me a sty!” …and I stopped using the Avenova. . Sty got worse over course of the day. That night I used a heated mask for 20 minutes and, amazingly, when I took mask off, an extremely large chunk of what looked like white wax was next to the sty. The sty felt less painful. The next morning, more wax appeared, and sty looked better. Over course of a few more days, a bit more wax appeared and then sty completely resolved…And then… no more itching and no more dry eyes! I don’t know how this worked, but it’s like the Avenova got the bad stuff trapped in my lid moving to one spot which resulted in a sty, and the heated mask released it. It’s been a few months and eyes still feel great. This stuff is magic!

I never had issues with my eyes/eyelids/eyelashes. A year ago I got and eyelid infection and ended up with chalazion. I have it remove surgically. Since then my eyelids are more prone to infections, blocked oil glands or styes. My ophthalmologist recommended to get this product. Since I started to use it, I didn't have any issues with my eyelids. It's a great product, helps to kill the bacteria, without getting my skin dry or irritated. I have sensitive skin and eyes. I'm also wearing contact lenses. It's the best remedy when you feel like something is going on with your lids or simply to prevent many eyelids problems. A MUST HAVE PRODUCT!

UPDATE (TWO MONTHS LATER)For long-term daily use, this product's high price eventually led me to try another similar formulation. As mentioned in my original review (below), my previous audition of 'Ocusoft' was not successful, so I tried 'Heyedrate' this time with solid results and no irritation whatsoever. At half the price, Heyedrate has now become my daily choice. My advice: try Avenova (the gold standard) first, and if it helps you, then try Heyedrate for comparison. (I spray once per eye, morn/eve, and let dry, which is easy and works well for me. I also wipe my eyelids with a warm cloth once daily.)ORIGINAL REVIEWI've suffered from semi-dry eyes and occasional styes for years. Tried Occusoft initially (to save $, and generics are often as good), but the eye irritation was a deal-breaker. Resisted spending $30 for something likely similar, but I was wrong about that.Avenova is soothing from the first moment and throughout the day. I haven't had another stye in two months, my eyelids have lost their redness, and my eyes feel and look comfortable. Avenova will likely stay on my shelf long-term. I use a Q-tip, morn and night, lightly rubbing eyelids and lashes. No prob If I get some in my eyes. Quick, easy, and effective, but I just wish it were cheaper. Making it an Amazon subscription would be particularly helpful for us long-term users.

Fantastic product. I used it for a watering eye caused by dry eye. I could tell Immediately that there was an improvement. After a week, the eye is not watering.

I was experiencing a blocked oil gland in the center of my eyelid so I bought this and just about every other stye product I could get my hands on in a moment of panic.I can't say this product made a difference but I can't say it didn't either. I used it 2x a day (4-5 sprays per eye) until the bottle was gone coupled with hot compresses. I feel like the hot compresses made the biggest difference but whichever one it was, I'm happy to report my stye eventually disappeared after ~2 weeks. I do know it helped keep my eyelid and lash line clean while I was trying to clear up the chalazion.I used the cotton ball method to apply the product (recommended method described on the packaging) and found it to be very soothing. You don't have to rinse the product off but it doesn't leave any kind of residue on the skin. My lids were just left feeling clean!I found it to be a bit expensive, especially considering it expired after a month. I also noticed it smelled strange, almost musty. None of the other reviews mentioned this so I used it anyways. Probably not the smartest decision but I was desperate for the chalazion to disappear. The smell wasn't overpowering but it definitely wasn't odor-free. If I have a need I'd try the spray again just to see if I still noticed the smell.

THIS ITEM WAS RECOMMENDED BY MY DOCTOR AND IT HAS BEEN HELPFUL SO FAR. EASY TO USE AND SAFE. I FOUND USING A Q-TIP TO APPLY WAS EASIER THAN A COTTON BALL. COTTON BALL ABSORBED TO MUCH AND DRIED OUT WHERE AS A Q-TIP KEPT IT MOISTURE. PRICE IS LESS THAN MY DOCTOR'S OFFICE.
