This brand was named as a replacement for the wonderful Callard & Bowser licorice toffies I enjoyed years ago but are now discontinued. While the licorice taste is appealing, these hard candies lack the wonderful, creamy, chewy texture I so much enjoyed. I also belong to the long suffering Callard and Bowser rememberers. I miss that brand so.....as many folks do. Every once in a while I try a licorice candy that really fails the C&B texture/taste/memory test.Walkers toffee is wonderful. It’s creamy. Not too hard, not to soft. The licorice taste is just right. I wish I had found this years ago. It may not be an exact C&B clone but it is very, very, very satisfying. Hurray.The cost is kindve high. That’s what happens when you develope a taste for imported candy.If you are part of the C&B army, I recommend giving this a try.
