I received my 8-channel/8-camera NVR system on Monday, August 11th. The package looked like it had a rough time in handling, but the contents were in good condition other than a blemish on the back of the NVR. Before I went through the trouble of running the cables, I "bench tested" all eight cameras and supplied 60' CAT-5 cables. Everything tested flawlessly. I was excited about replacing my old Lorex analog cameras with the 1080p PoE cameras. First, here are the pros:*The cameras are either cast zinc or aluminum, not plastic*The supplied 60' CAT-5 cables are flat and VERY tangle-resistant *(there were no difficulties running all eight cables through a stud wall at once)*Excellent picture quality*Night vision is clear. Not "grainy" like the analog cameras*The Danale app is simple to set up and view after network settings are set*The cameras start recording to the NVR by default as soon as they are connectedThe Cons:*The network settings (DHCP) did not automatically connect to my router. I had to set them "static" then switch to DHCP*The female CAT-5 connector cable on the camera is shorter that I would have liked (~8 inches)*The supplied instructions lack a little to be desiredAll in all, I'm happy with my purchase. I haven't needed to contact customer support, but that's more important to me than the availability of customer support. I will probably be upgrading the HDD to 4TB soon.
