Major, major odor, as others have mentioned, but they seem sturdy and rugged. Washing them and airing outside for a day seemed to help the smell a bit.

I weirdly researched hand weights for a month before purchasing these. I liked the look, the metal bar was grooved for easy grip, the bar was long enough that I could do push ups without blisters, and the dumbbells were rubber and not metal. These have been great! I do wear gloves when using just to keep my girly hands callous free.

These are the best weights! They don’t roll like the round ones and they don’t chip like the polypropylene ones. Love them and need to go up to 15’s next!

They stink! Strong chemical smell - hope it subsides or will be returning.

I ordered the pair of 20-pound weights for an exercise and diet program my doctor wants me on. I read the other reviews about people who only got one when that weight was supposed to be a pair, but I also ordered directly from Amazon, and once getting the shipping notice, saw the weight was 40.5 pounds, so I knew I was getting two. When they arrived, my UPS guy jokingly asked "what the heck did you buy?" because the relatively small box was that heavy.When you first open them, there's a pretty noticeable rubber smell, but that dissipates over time. They have a nice comfortable feel and a no-slip grip - perfect for doing repeated-reps curls or vertical lifts without worrying about dropping. These weights are well constructed, there's no signs that they will separate in the future. In addition to the program my doctor wants, they'll also help build up arm and upper-body strength for shoveling, in case we have a winter like the last one.These weights are not the cheapest, nor are they the most expensive, but they are a great value for what you get, and worth the purchase.

Another brand sent iron weights with no grip versus photo and small chips to surface coat. These are great - as described.

I ordered a pair of 20 pound weights. I was happy and relieved that I recieved both. I weighed them and 1 of the weights weighs 23 pounds the other is 20.9 a little inconsistent there. But okay. They also smell like stale cigarette smoke, and in my opinion that smell is so disgusting. But the smell is dissipating. All in all decent price for some okayish weights, they get the job done.

I feel stronger already!They're are great, sturdy investment. I kind of want more sizes now haha.Would recommend. Easy to store too (under my bed)

Pretty sturdy! I do agree with some of the reviewers that it does smell strong at first and there's a greasy film on the rubber, but I think it is a normal thing with brand new rubber dumbbells. I soaked and scrubbed it with sunlight detergent, so I'm pretty sure it will be better. Paid 125$ for the pair of 25lbs (I actually received a pair). For that price, it's a really good deal (at my local store, one 25lbs dumbbell cost around 100$, which is absolutely insane).

If you have a cat that likes to do his nails on neoprene dumbbells, these are exactly what you need. A bit pricey compare to other places but the quality is there. I've spent a small fortune on neoprene dumbbells until I decided to get the rubber one. The cat still goes to his shredding sessions on my old dumbbells and leaves these ones alone.

The smell, of fresh tire, although not overwhelming, is noticeable.

Got these for the holidays for my wife she uses them for her online work outs. She seems to be happy with these. I like them, because the are sold in pairs. Who knew? I guess weights are usually sold as singles. But these came in a pair. So far she’s been happy with them.
