What a Depressing, Boring Sum of Stereotypes!

There is no need to buy this book. It is a catalogue of generalities and stereotypes that may all be found on Google without a very long research. When having a child with processing disorder, the best way is to keep her as normalised as possible, because she will GROW OUT of most of these issues. These are mostly linked to an immature nervous system. There are different ways to stimulate the nervous system, and very few are actually in this book. Going to the playground, having a good workout, is worth an OT session, especially if one does it every day. The most important is to keep a child active every single day and not let her be overwhelmed by various tactile aversions. Just play it low key, instead of fussing about it. As for recommending behavioral therapy, that addresses the consequences instead of the source of the child's issues, this is really a bad call. All in all a poorly informed book, with no structure, no point, nothing new. You' better write a cook book Ms Mauro!
